Summer is not far away. With the weatherman predictions that this summer is going to be hottest, it's time to think about those foods which keep us hydrated. Here are a few.

That's indeed helpful. The summer is really going to be a hot season this time around and I have already started with a dose of cucumber.

And one of the best hydrating fruit available in this season is Mango. Though costlier than cucumbers, they are worth trying.

Well, no need to tell about mangoes, Rambabuji. People will consume the fruit even if it is costly. After all, it's the king of all fruits!

I'm fortunate to live in a place which exports a special variety of Mango, Banginapalli to entire India.

While on the subject, I come from the area which is world famous for mangoes. A place in my state famous for Dushari has about 100 big gardens where celebrities come to enjoy taste of mangoes. You'll be surprised to not that one tree has more than 300 varieties on one tree alone. It is not a lonely example but hundreds of such trees are here in this state in different parts from where most mangoes are exported.

I'm aware of the virtues of Dushari. And i have tasted it several times during one of my official visits to Lucknow.

But have you seen the tree with 300 different varieties on one tree? We have several trees even my own city with 30-40 different varieties of mangoes on one tree.

No, its a news to me. A tree giving different species. Wonder of wonders

It's known as grafting technology where you can have even different fruits from same tree although a rare tech. see the link provided above.

Oh, this is something I am hearing for the first time. So many varieties of fruits on the same tree, that's amazing. Is the technolgoy too costly? Why isn't it brought into much use?
Useful sharing.

Well, nothing can beat coconut water in summer days. It has a lot energetic values and instantly hydrates the body too. No wonder, it is costly in these days.

It's costly, time consuming and needs lot of patience to develop one such tree. People interested in research jobs do it constantly and rarely succeed as long different fruits are concerned. But same fruit with different varieties is possible especially while other variety fruit trees are present in the locality.

All is talking for mango, no doubt it is king of fruit, but watermelon is best one to keep us dehydrated.

Yes butter milk and lemon water is also useful in summer.

By the way, lemon water can be consumed throughout the year. It is advisable to keep the tummy airight too.
Tender coconut is the most nutritious beverage provided by the nature for us. We should consume regularly during hot summer.

Tender coconut juice and mint/lime juice is my favorite, also panna made with half ripe mangoes. It is so delicious and cooling.Summer is terribly hot here in my place and it already feels more like the month of May rather than March which is early summer !

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!
