Aastha I think Artist Also take education of art to get more success. Artist is become best artist because of his talent and talent come by education and knowledge of things.

So More knowledge, Talent and Experience give good success.
@ Santosh,
He who take education of art, is a man made artist, artist is one, who have that capability or talent within of art..
Other than this, he can polish his talent by taking knowledge..but not education..
Although basic education is required by all.
Aastha has raised the matter of quality and content of education. The points are valid. However, we are discussing whether education is the key to success. I reply in the affirmative. You definitely need skill to perform and get success in performance. It may be, however, that learning and working are simultaneous.

The more skilled jobs need more education. Moreover, there are many jobs for which educational qualification is prescribed. You can enter jobs like teaching, law, accountancy, engineering, medicine, architecture etc. only by getting appropriate education.

Even unskilled jobs need some sort of education. However, education need not always be formal and lead to certificate. It is necessary to work with some expert in the field before independently working.

Apart from job, education adds to personal qualities like self confidence, way of talking, manners etc.
Rajani K. stated that there are many cases where without education people have achieved success. Here i may state that the affected individuals might not have got formal education but they would have definitely gained practical education and training, that might be hereditary. many individuals are engaged in family business and trade and have informal training since childhood.
Many professions have developed on modern line in the last century. For example, in earlier times, there were no Chartered accountants. There were old style Munims (indigenous accountants) who would pass on the knowledge of accountancy from generation to generation. Now even beautician course is taught as a certificate or diploma course though skill in barber trade has been passed on from generation to generation.
In fact, education is must for success for most people. There may be few exceptions where people succeeded without formal education. We should remember that exceptions are not rules. We should be guided in our efforts by rules and not look to exceptions.
@ astha..

it is right that " if they were not be educated, their profession could still pay them and would make them successful in life" but Education is needed to help then know how to make more money,

gulshan has rightly pointed the some type of education is passed on from generation to generation.
Success is a result of putting theory in practice. Formal education equips more in theory. Knowledge is a tool. Unless the tool is used properly, no success will come. It is rightly stated that practice makes one perfect. However, this should be borne in mind that practice is part and parcel of education. That is why there is a period of practical training or apprenticeship, which must be undergone before one gets a degree.

Some times, it appears that success is attained without education. In these cases, possibly the individual has not get adequate theoretical education or has poor expression but he has made up by more intense practical training. I recall that there are some semi qualified or less qualified accountants who are placed in higher position to qualified chartered accountants in some establishments. If one has less theoretical knowledge and more perfect practical training, we cannot say that he has less education. Ultimately, success depends on education- theoretical and practical, formal or informal.
Gulshan Kumar had made some valuable points.

I do agree that some education is required in order to succeed in life, but education is not the only cause for success. Here education usually refers to two parts i.e. primary education and higher education. It's not mandatory that people who have good primary education will succeed in life and people who don't have good primary education cannot succeed in their life. Primary education is just something like having brief overview of all the concepts and fields in the world.

Now it's the turn for us to discuss about higher education. We see many people who have succeed well in their life even without primary education but not without higher education. Higher education is something related to your specialization and you will be concentrating on only one field. Consider a mechanical engineer who's not a brilliant student in his school life but has the capability of understanding many mechanisms that we come across in our life. If such a student takes mechanical engineer as his specialization, then his sure to succeed in life.

To sum up, primary education is not compulsory for a person to succeed in life but higher education is must for anyone to succeed in their life.
Education is a stepping stone to be a successful person but not always a reality. It is only a passport for any one to have a better job and a better life.
Even drop out person from college could be a successful person or with little background. Now a days education is so expensive that poor people cannot afford so even those talented person is reluctant to go in schools, lower or higher. They have options to work or do business than to study.
As Per The GD Topic By Maverick: "Do you think education is only key to success?".

I want to say that Education makes us to a proper part of a society. Not every education is important or necessary for complete life. Education is just one the way from lot of ways to success. Its just a part not a key to success.

To get a success in life we need to unlock a lot of locks of life and education is one of the key not all. If you wanna get success you need to do smart work not hard work because a normal riksha puller or a labour per also do hard work bu they are not successful.

Wanna get success then you must have patience for what you did. Success not comes in one second. You might get fail a lot of time in life but this fail is also the way in which after keep trying you will get success and what you want.

Self discipline is also one of the key to success. Discipline must be in your part of life which is the need of life.

If you are doing a work in a particular field to get success, then passion is must in your heart and mind for that field.

Education is just a tool not perfect key. Education are of lot of types.

You can see a lot of uneducated persons which are successful in their life. These all due to smart work, skills, passion and patience.

Yes, Education is needed for them too...
Infact education is needed by all people of society to have a good aspect in life and to be better ctizens.
But topic here is Is education the ONLY means to success, so I am saying that it is the ONLY key but other factors can alsolead you to success.
As per the topic of the Group Discussion, "Do you think the education is the only key to success", I want to give my views.

This statement totally depends on, what the definition of education, you are considering. Education is not only sitting in the school for six hours and learning the different things but it is also the moral and social values which is to be taught so that the student can better behave in a society.
According to me, Education is only a tool to success, but it doesn't mean that good education will lead to successful.
Agree with you aastha in your words.. It also depends upon education but education is not 100% key to success.
Rajani K wrote:
I agree with aastha that education is a tool to success. It gives a person both moral values and knowledge about many things needed. Though it is important to get basic education for every person it is not the main thing for success.

Getting higher education do not necessary lead to success. There are many cases where without education people have acheived success. :)
Agree with you also.
@Lohit, very correct, that we can see a lot of uneducated persons which are successful in their life.

Lalu Prasad Yadav is another example, He has not at all educated but has enjoyed a good success and place in Politics..
aastha wrote:
Actually there is no method to differentiate between those who get success through education and those who get by their experience and luck..
Artists or celebrities doesnot need any good education, but they have success because of their ability other than studying.
Aastha those who have success in their life and are not educated are passionate to their work. Their right attitude made them successful..

They also got success due to education. In your first reply your said depends upon education. They have education which are not educated but that education is due to their other experience and facts. Its not necessary education is only shouldbe of school or college.
Rajani K wrote:
well sridevi and aastha have given examples and for that i want to add somemore...Our actors like Dharmendra,Govinda and even some pakistan cricket players are not educated...but still they have acheived the success in their respective fields.

Most of these people feel that education is needed for communication in addition to their skills. But they never though the education can improve their skills in acting and playing cricket...
Acting don't need education of school and college. You need passion for acting and your right attitude.
@Lohit, good point caught..

A positive work attitude and a hard working nature are essential to an individual success. An educated person who is lazy and refuse to work hard will definitely not attain success. Many people with little or no education realize that it is difficult for them to do well.

Yes aastha education is more expensive these days.
But not every person can do business also. Business also needs capital.

A person who is not educated can get success but if he got failed after a lot of success in his bad time at that time its not possible to regain that success but educated person in his bad time can earn and get success. you can take your own example you are educated and you got placement in infosys.

Education is also but. Its not the perfect key but need of life.
Lalu Prasad is well talented player of politics so he got more success in politics but He has good knowledge of Politics so Knowledge come by education.

Its not required that you need to learn by Degree only . Any person can learn by experience and personal effort So Lalu prasad has learn lot of thing by personal effort.

Hi aastha & santosh-I read that lalu prasad hold a lawyer's degree? But, true, what he does in politics in entirely differenct

@lohit..
In acting, you need to study how the audience will react , the tactics which would give them popularity etc.

It is a fact that hardwork, goodness, and sometimes luck also counts..but all that comes secondary. Education is the only primary key to success as it is only .

If we take the case of jobs also, only experience, without education does not count.
Education is one of the key factors to achieve success in life. It depends upon what you are calling "success", if it is achievable through education, then it is applicable for that. Also depends how a person utilizing his education in order to get success. But there are always some exceptions. If someone is trying to launch their career on the basis of education, then they would need a formal educational degree. Otherwise if persons are trying to develop themselves, then it will be wise to learn from the every day's life.
