I am sure that now with Deepavali coming closer , we will get to hear a lot of noise and lights in the neighborhood. We also get to hear of many deaths that take place in sheds and small factories where these crackers are manufactured with absolutely no safety regulations and the saddest part is that many of those who die are children...

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

i like all types of crackers but i use very few of them. but i like the various colors they emit when burn..it looks so beautiful. i like viewing those fireworks :) :)

very wonderful article i can already feel myself burning some of those crackers. while i was reading it i felt that as if the article was trying to convince me "diyas are better than crackers." i am fully convinced about that the diyas are the essence of Diwali....... though i dont mind spending a little on crackers as well

Where have I told diyas are better than crackers :silly:
I think you haven't read it well :cheer:
For capital city, no diyas, only crackers....
So, it's something new to me while I see people in Thrissur celebrating Diwali with diya, not crackers..
According to me, both are needed

Yes, research has shown that the maximum number of noise pollution in India occurs on the day of Dewali specially in North India. Celebrate this Dewali without crackers! :cheer:
