Do you like doing DIY jobs around the house ?

I noticed that most of the electrical problems are due to minor faults such as fuse problem, short circuit caused by connecting the live and neutral wire etc. So, I have learned to look out for these minor problems and repair them myself. But I still call the electrician for the bigger problems

Yes I too do that :) like extending wires and taking a new light connection from an already existing one through a wire and a holder and such minor works which is not difficult at all...I also like painting windows and even walls which can be fun since you get an opportunity to experiment with different shades ..

That really must be fun! :) Even though I want to do it I never get an opportunity as my brother do it himself.

It is a lot of fun to do stuff around the house.I and my daughter are now making a patch work quilt , for which we have been collecting pieces of material from all over the place.We stuck upon this idea when we happened to see a beautifully made patch work quilt at a handicrafts exhibition which cost Rs 6,000 / :huh: , so we thought we could try making one,though it may not look as professional as the one we saw....

It wasn't posted twice intentionally but I kept clicking on Submit button and it didn't give any response. When it actually worked, it was posted twice. I guess users should have the privilege to delete their own posts as well.

From the contents of your post I guessed that it was a mistake, not spamming or intentional...

Generally system blocks a duplicate post if hit continuously besides such posts come one in a row. Once a post appears after the post one can see his post as well.

I think admin can note this idea for blocking such double posts. Since this site is under construction, he can implement it easily now.

I could never ever post a duplicate after posting more than 9k posts as system always blocked my effort saying "the system blocked your duplicate post"

we can't delete our posts Puneet, only moderators or admin can delete it.
Better, we can edit them......
If we have posted something, just wait for a minute. Many times, while I was typing the same message again, I have seen my posts appearing in forum. Now, this site is undergoing construction. so, such problems may rise.

My brother also used to rectify some electrical problems and Television repairing like that.

Many people these days take up short term courses like pottery,Tv repairs,carpentry and even gardening....It comes in handy and one is putting ones time into proper use instead of whiling away on something that is not productive !

I am more of the creative type so I mostly do the job of interior decoration for my house. ;)
I am very active during the festivals especially Diwali , house decoration is completely my department. :cheer:

That's nice, otherwise most youngsters these days don't give a hand in either tidying up or anything else to do with the house keeping .....House decoration is a lot of fun besides giving you ample scope to be innovative ..

I think its good to do our own work.It saves money it will give a little exercise to our body.Instead of depending on others for house hold work it is better to do it on own.

Yes i am also on the same page. Though we can't do all the work but atleast we should try. I am also into electrical fittngs small issues which can be sorted out by ourselves...

Exercise part is even more important than saving money.By cleaning our house including sweeping and swabbing by going on all four we get to exercise the whole body and our limbs remain flexible, so also hand washing clothes and gardening work which is an excellent exercise for our entire body !

That is household chores that we do every day not anything out of the way like fixing something that is broken or ding some other much needed jobs around the house without calling a technician, electrician or a carpenter as the case may be...

We can do our daily (routine) works on our own. No need of servants.

Doing all hosehold works and other simple works helps us keep us physically fit.

I have play the role of painter, carpenter and sometime even cleaning the bathrooms... Most of the electrical work is handled by my brother and I help him while doing it.

I love to do work of my house own.this durga puja I ask a painter to paint the doors and windows of the house he charged a heavy rate which I know could not be so much.So i decided to paint it on my own.And ultimately I took the bucket of the color and start ed to paint the doors and windows.

My DIY jobs are not restricted to household chores alone. I do my own Photo lamination, framing my paintings and changing the decorative patterns of my drapery from to time

I love doing gardening works at my home. Besides, it is my favourite pass time.

I too like to try my hand at everything whether it comes out perfect or not, I do it anyway, like carpentry jobs,painting old furniture even restoration etc, also make patch work quilts and sofa covers and stuff like that, more than anything I like the idea of experimenting and learning new things..
