Yes in villages they are not treated well but in cities they are treated almost equally and no body cares if a woman is widow or not. :)
Educating and making women economically independent can really make a change in today's status of the women.
I couldn't agree more. It is always the sufferer who can take steps for removing injustice. Women alone can fight against gender injustice. For this, they must strengthen themselves. Economic self dependence is essential for women empowerment.

Now situation is changing and women also re marring now.
In fact this is women themselves who find it difficult to cope with new situations besides their personal problems in another marriage. Otherwise this is no big issue these days.
