Mostly tourists are the army personnel's families or mostly people going up to Patnitop the beginning of the valley. Then of course if you can call visitors who are going to Vaishno Devi as tourists.

Hi all
The best places where I had been and I love them to to visit again are
Haridwar, Dheradhun, Rishikesh and Vaisno Devi.

Everyone is saying, Kashmir is the most beautiful place in India. Is it right?
Naturally yes, but the violence has taken some of its beauty away. I have visited every corner of Kashmir, it fascinates me.
Whole Kashmir like that? Ya only border?
I think snow mountains, streams and beautiful flowers have made it a paradise. But what to say :(
Whole of Kashmir including Jammu is under the influence of terrorists. I left a project I was doing for BRO (Border road organization) due to them in Rajouri district.
Only army people and there family can visit Jammy & Kashmir isn't it.? If normal person needs to visit those places they need lot of procedures and permission has to be taken... what you say.? :(

No this is not mandatory to take permission, but you do not feel comfortable there as you hear terrorist violence news every once in a while. Of course there are some places where you need permissions but that is every where which are bordering places with other countries like, Arunachal, Nagaland, Manipur and so on. .

Cross border? You can not even reach it, as the Indian troops would do the same if some one found nearing border without permission.
