Spreading awareness will certainly help. Awareness on the health hazards of tobacco and its products are no doubt increasing resulting in reduction consumption of those products. I can understand youth are being carried away by the wrong belief that smoking is a style statement. But adults are also in the same condition. The situation  has to be changed. This is possible only by strict implementation of the law.

200 meter is not an unreachable distance. Those who need it will get from anywhere. Though this calamity cannot be prevented completely, the usage of junk foods and drugs can be reduced to some extend by creating awareness among the youth.

No distance is unreachable for the addicts of Junk stuff, tobacco based products today. Courtesy the blind Administration that turns away intentionally.

Right step taken by our government. Such street food is not good for our children health. Many time they have stomach problem arises.  

The step taken by the government is good, no doubt. But the million dollar question is are they being implemented effectively ?

Unless you have a practical alternative - either a canteen run by the school that is affordable or make children carry a lunch box compulsorily , which is done by some schools in my town, a ban will not be productive. The main concern here is to see that the school children get to eat nutritious food rather than street food that can be unhygienic and lacking in nutrition !

A Ban on anything means, the product should not be available for those who are consuming it. If the product is available openly, everywhere, What is the use of that unproductive Ban ?

There are other issues as well, like for example most of these street food vendors are poor people making a living out of selling food under the most difficult circumstances.So actually if government gives them help to set up canteens that are affordable and hygienic it would help both the children and the street food vendors..

This kind of welfare measure to help the under privileged is always well come. Only thing to be seen is these street side vendors should not sell the Junk food.

Counselling by parents ad teachers will go a long way in keeping children away from junk food. However keeping selling shops away from schools also helps in a small way.
