Power politics
We live in a country where the worst of decisions maybe applauded by a certain section of a crowd. This is nothing strange as the working of governments in India is not that an easy job. This is one of the most typical jobs for governments to keep themselves stable due to coalitions and mixed parties rulings. Ruling parties generally take the risk of getting unpopular just to stay glued in power. If we look at the past year this shows clearly that this was one of the worst year for the present government. Moreover, the present year I going to be the most testing time for our policymakers because there is so much to do for them before the real tests comes for them in the beginning of 2014 in the shape of general elections.
There is so much to do for the poor and needy, like the petroleum, products which are getting costlier so irrationally, must be the priority besides the bill pending for the street wanders which would permit tens of millions small shopkeepers to work on the pavements and footpaths. Although this is not a good move if we look at this with the traffic point of view but while it comes to fundamental rights of people to live and eat then this is some thing which the government may decide in favor of small business persons and this may become a bill this year. Actually to make things right the government shall have to work out a way to see that diesel used in a proper way and no subsidy utilized apart from agricultural use.
Poverty
As we all know that governments can show any data which indicates that the poverty is reducing despite the fact that the rate of inflation is going up at an alarming rate. The picture is so very dangerous at the ground level that the point of total failure of mechanism is at the sta government ke. Thehas failed miserably and not doing well. Let us hope that they will see to it and would try their best to fulfill the expectations of public in this current fiscal to make required amendments. This is one of the most appropriate times of this government’s tenure to come forward and take some steps, which brings system back to some extent of normalize the situation. Acquirement of land is one such issue which certainly needs handling on priority basis.
I agree that we have adapted to modernization but at the same time, we have not forgotten the basic values of our own culture and values, which we inherited from our ancestors. This is one of the factors, which enable us to understand shortcomings of the steps not right for us. Still there are many problems, which we might face while trying to achieve the targets. One of the biggest tasks in front of us is to convince the majority of the rural public, which looks its future in cities, to keep them, stay back in their respective places. That is possible only when the government may make them feel that they can have a life as good as they are expecting in cities, but that is real tough task. The villagers find it too lucrative to come and stay in cities despite the fact that they are being cut off from their roots and living in extreme conditions.
Our main hope the women and elderly
There is one very positive sign that we can see today is that our women folks are coming ahead with their full might and strength and doing their best despite many shortcomings. They are achieving professional expertise in many fields and giving men a tough competition in every field of life. That is very positive sign but the darker side of the fact is that they are being overconfidence and taking some steps, which are not showing them off in a good light. Alright they are full of confidence and that is a good sign again and not only that women are doing good but the men are also doing their best to make them self-sufficient and doing their best to make them reach to their destinations. Let us take it this way that the coming years are going to be the best years for the perfect understanding and co-existence for both of them. The only problem seems to be at the front of cast and marriages based on love especially when the Love-jihad comes in to the picture. The new social structure seems to be on the cards in a very near future The most important factor today related to women is modernization. They have to decide about it which needs an urgent solution by them, yes, this is some thing only they can visualize in its true value and its effects, it’s utility. Do they really need it in its present form? Do they really think this is their body and they are, authorized to use it for marketing purpose? Are they serious about making its commercial use? I was on a forum recently where this was one of the topics, we discussed it widely. Many women present on this particular topic were very aggressively trying to convince other members about right to use their body the way they liked. I agree this is their right but then there should be some limit to that, not fixed by authorities but by themselves.
I have full confidence that the present era is going to be the golden period of our respected women folks when they will achieve the ultimate and reach further to the top of the table, which is the ultimate of any developed society. A happy woman is the symbol of a healthy society. The way the women are going forward and understanding the value of the elderly people in their family is all along a new ray hope for elderly people. Let us hope that our society will bring them closer and they would not feel cut-off from the social life.
Politics
This is one of the most sensitive topics in today’s viewpoint. Politics as I understand is the main tool that keeps a firm control on governments and administration. This is supposed to be one of the instruments that control the life of public of any country. This is for the public, by the public and for the welfare of the public. Unfortunately, our politics and politicians do not understand their responsibility as expected from them. Moreover, to top it all, they have no sense of responsibility while it comes to understand their accountability toward the public. I am again hopeful that the time has come when they shall be more sincere, understand their liability in this matter, and do their best for the purpose they were, selected for the different houses to make life easy for public.
Market
One of the most important sectors of any country is its economy; unfortunately, the market of India is not as established as it looks like. The inflation rate is eating-up every thing that our private and agricultural sectors are trying to provide it. The red tapes and corruption is at its peak therefore the good work, which should be visible, clearly is nowhere to, be seen. I would not take up this subject here, as this is too wide and complicated issues to be discussed here. However, I can only write only a few facts, which are going to keep us back and would not let us go ahead with full force as we lack in basic infrastructure and we are not at all serious about them. Roads and electricity are the basic items, which would make us feel so short of target, and the worst part is that we are not serious about them and least prepared.
Indians believe in the prayer of mother Goddesses. During festivals, we worship teenage girls considering her as a goddess. We respect her and give her blessings. Now the heart of Indians is changing. People don't respect girl child. The sacred and holy country like India has now become dangerous place for girls to live in. Recently it has been considered that Delhi and Uttar Pradesh ranked number one in crimes like sexual harassment, kidnapping, rape and murder of teenage girls, etc.
Being social, civilized and responsible citizen of India, when we are asked the reason behind this, we say that the government officers or politicians or some anti social elements are responsible for such incidents to take place. The reason is true to a great extent. However, there are many other factors behind such incidents. All rape incidents are not due to political affairs or interaction with government officials. Many a times, the crime took place because of the attitude and behavior of girls. The fashion and modern trend to look beautiful and bold is one of the reasons behind it. Insult in love affairs or refuse to marry, after a long friendship can be the another reason behind it. Lastly, madness for sex, can also make someone commit such crime. However, these are the negative circumstances behind which both male and female are responsible. Other than this, there are many innocent girls who unfortunately become victims of such ugly incidents. Here I have some defensive techniques and ideas which can help them to a certain extent:-
- Try to avoid passing through any lonely lane.
- Don't enter anybodies home, if someone flatters you, when you are alone. Don't believe anyone blindly.
- Change your dressing style. It is not necessary to look beautiful. It is necessary to remain safe and happy. Wear Salwar suit or Jeans. Avoid wearing skirts, frocks and sarees. Avoid sexy or vulgar dresses.
- Try to avoid going to parties, discos, night clubs, etc. Avoid alcoholic drinks in parties and discos.
- Don't inhale or smell anything unknown to you. If anyone forces you to smell, stop breathing for a while.
- If someone forces you, shout as loudly as you can, without any fear. Tell the whole world that he is insulting and forcing you.
- Stop feeling ashamed of speaking out about any such incidents. Don't hide anything from your parents.
- Store the local police station number in your speed dial.
- Use hard hand bags and wear tough sandals. Make use of it for defending yourself.
- Do little bit of exercise and yoga at home. Keep your body healthy and strong. If possible learn defensive techniques like kung fu, judo, karate, martial arts, etc.
- In case of any adverse situation, don't stand crying and looking at them with fear. Just run and come to the busy market place and start shouting. Someone will help you.
- Many women and girls are also involved in such crime due to money, revenge or jealousy. Learn from your parents how to recognize them. Keep yourself away from such ladies.
- Your friends may be bad people. Beware of them.
- Don't eat anything outside from anyone whether known or unknown to you.
- Don't take lift from anybody.
- Don't quarrel with anyone unnecessarily.
- Avoid to talk to any stranger when you are alone.
- Defensive spray for women are available in markets. You can buy that spray for your safety purpose also.
Now a days, criminals are finding different ways of committing crime and then escaping from police. Many innocent men and women fell their prey. It is better to be cautious and brave. Known people are more dangerous than unknown people. Professional criminals forcefully take away their prey while the known people like friends, neighbors and relatives they flatter you away from the sight of your escorts to unknown dangerous places where you become totally helpless. The incidence of gang rape is increasing days after days in many states.
Recently, it has been complaining in big cities like Kolkata and Indore where a girl was kidnapped and raped by a gang inside a moving car. Many of us ignore such incidence just like a deaf and a blind person and don't come forward to help the innocent girls. The crime chart of Delhi , U.P. and Rajasthan police stations have shown an abnormal slash in the rate of crime committed to the teenage girls. Girls are bought and sold many a time and finally they are escorted by the police from some brothel. Many girls are never found or seen anywhere. Many families don't accept their daughters. Society mentally tortures the family and the girl. They are abused by the public. Let's move forward and reduce the crime rates. Many girls can live a good and happy family life if we are good to them.
Lovely season for lovely colors
I do not think if one can go ever wrong with black and white colors, as I saw a discussion about people declaring their choices of these two colors in particular. However, what I feel to explain here that this is right time to experiment with different shades of these colors and other colors in fashion these days. This is season to make a bold statement, this is spring and summers about to begin.
While going out for shopping try to avoid colors, which you already have, that too in bulk. While fresh season shopping has lot to select from according to trend, one has to keep in mind about the latest trend of the season. This season bright colors are in like beige and purple, beige and red, beige and green and beige and peacock green. There are certain more colors those are making strong statements in colors, which are deep colors like burgundy, wine, orange, red, and dark blues those are being, used extensively. A combination of saffron and fuchsia, red and purple etc. are popular too.
By the way, if you have your reservations about using too bold colors and combinations there is nothing much to worry as I have some pastel shades to suggest those also rule this wonderful season. This spring season you may find yourself wrapped in vivid colors as well as in soft neutrals. Mint green is the latest hottest in fashion and gives you a perfect and sophisticated look, besides this is suitable for all skin colors as well.
Right prints
There is always a big confusion on weather to go for feminine floral prints or make a bold statement with animal prints. Here are a few suggestions for you; spring-summer trends have the amalgamation of both. Now they are using animals and floral combined to make them look greater and a new fashion trend altogether, an experiment worth trying. With these, there are multiple options for you to decide upon your combinations.
What I feel that appliqué floral would remain in big demand in this spring-summer of 2012. In addition, the lace is being, used as never before.
Other than these vivid prints, stripes and geometric prints are also being, used. Moreover, did I forget to mention that total milky white is one of the best options for another hot choice of the women this season? You can rely on a few creamy or off-white shades also to look a little different from white.
How to look great
Color blocking is important with focus on impact contrasts like red and black, yellow and purple. Mix and match is indeed an important trend this spring season. Contrasts could be brought in shades of your shoes as well along with chunky necklaces, earrings and even trims like borders etc. on the garment itself.
Other ways of getting the look is by selecting bright colors for the coming summers like using bright orange or mustered with black trousers or turquoise blue skirts. Urban India has seen rapid changes in the condition of women in cities especially in metros where they are doing as well as their men counterparts are doing. However we have to focus on empowering women and girls in rural and semi-urban areas because we have reasons to believe that they hold the key of a stronger nation and long lasting social changes that this country has yet to see.
The changes in urban areas are visible but the changes are, needed mostly in semi-urban and rural areas where instances of discrimination are still happening every day. Girls are, forced to marry at a younger age without their consent and the worst they are, forced to bear children at a tender age. They could have become better mothers if only they were, provided the chance to choose their own ways. They are entitled for guidance and on different issues through awareness campaigns and camps at local levels.
Equality has come a long way in today’s world but not everywhere, not in every areas of our country especially backward and rural areas are way behind in this. Boys are availing all the facilities but girls are still way behind. This is high time that we remove our narrow thinking and look forward to change society.
What I feel is that we should trust our women and let them do what they are willing. We should be more liberal and let them move freely as they do understand and can rectify their own misdoings. We should not compel them to do them every thing according to our thinking; they are better prepared now and need their own space to move, we should not deny them this
What I strongly feel is that we must take it up as a subject at school level and let the young students learn it so that they can see its importance from the beginning. Parents should also know the importance of this subject so that they too guide their wards and teach them to respect women as their own mother, sister or real friend and not some one who they can mock. They must know that abusing women would be a criminal offence and they would end up as looser in the end. This is the only way the crime rate that is highest at this particular point of time here in our country would come down.
Education has a major role to play in the development of women. We shall have to make sure that every girl child, sent to school and gets proper education. The trend is picking up, the only need is to make things faster and giving them proper training and provide them ample job opportunities. They should not be, denied job opportunities in any sector as they have it proved repeatedly. Education and proper training to every girl, which is most important factor of turning women, empowered with the knowledge, skills and self-confidence and making them a part of the society and development process. There is one more point that should be important and must be, followed strictly that a serious step is, required to stop female feticide in society

Every point is important for women today to keep pace with the modern day society in every field be it education, self confidence, jobs, fashion, sports, health or general knowledge, women should stop relying on men and do things on their own. This could be ant thing right from shopping to use of Internet, mobile phone or whatever it takes to make them empowered. This will help make them free individuals, it is important for women to know their own power.
We should be, committed to see that women secure equal rights in every field, be it education, free space in society, right to express themselves and every other field which the men occupies today. Every girl or woman should have a right to choose her field and equality in every field.
I have always thought that growing old is wonderful. It is freedom from many problems even if this is one of the
problems in itself but that depends upon person to person. It is a like enjoying our life totally without any
responsibilities and going back in to memories while still enjoying the present. I know people in their forties and
fifties who appear and behave older than others behave in much older age.
I know people who are well into their old age and doing reasonably good, getting into all the rough and climbing
in and out of life's hard and soft corners despite having all kind of problems they had to go through. I know,
number wise I am older than, some of you are, but still feel and act as if I am in my twenties. That simply
depends on how I take life, positively or negatively. I take it most positively, enjoying to the core. Let me recall
the incidents regarding some of my women friends and coworkers. They say women feel that they are going in
to reverse when they hit their middle age and remain at a certain age for years to come. I think there is any
thing wrong with that if only they can maintain themselves, they have every right to feel and behave that way.
Yes, I am, blessed with wonderful genes, a gift to me by my ancestors, I am a vegetarian, for years that helps
keep some of the problems away, and I do not smoke, drink wine etc. exercise regularly and get quality sleep,
not long though. Moreover, I laugh aloud every day and perhaps forgot to mention, drink a lot of water every day
that really helps. That is like a part of water therapy that keeps system clean and healthy. Any one can try that
to give it a shot and see the difference within a week. This is too good a therapy to keep hypertension etc away
and not to mention your kidneys.
The most important is to stay young at heart and in the mind, and to enjoy all the fun and frolic the world has to
offer during our journey here. How to keep going and stay young was the dictum of my friends and parents, all of
whom tried very hard to go against aging. I did not do that by going with artificial ways but with natural methods
and many efforts. In my case though, I actually live by this and knowing who I am, how could I possibly go and
shout-out loud about the fact that I am old and therefore not able to keep pace with younger lot.
I am always, prepared by giving surprises to my friends and relatives. More years to our life simply mean
becoming that much more experienced and more things to share with others. Getting old but staying young at
heart is a wonderful way of becoming, more experienced only; this has nothing to do with sitting an armchair
and reading newspapers. I would like to mention that I did all this despite being too busy traveling and tending
to all my duties throughout my too busy call of duty. As one who will never act my age, I can say to all who act
joyful, to live your life the way you want to live, your own way. You are always and truly only as young or old, as
you feel. I have my plans on feeling young for a long time, as long as I would live.
What I feel that my mind is still young enough, and I still can shock some of the younger lot with so many ways,
things I can do or share. There reaction is always so amazing ‘you are not as old as much I thought’. I really
liked that, I really did and that made me even younger. I do not mind being a senior at all, sometimes although
not too often, you get away with things, that maybe you should not.
However, as long as you are fit and healthy this does not matter whatever number you are. I do not need an
excuse to have fun as much younger people do, eat whatever I like, go for outings etc. and enjoy the way I like.
This is our jolly nature that keeps us young; all the other good habits probably help, of course. We are only as
young or old as much we think we are feeling at the time. Therefore, age means nothing. This is what is in the
heart and mind and certainly not in numbers. Although, I do not mind growing old, however, I wish the pains and
sufferings do not become the part of me, they need not be the part of me Enjoy as long as you can.
