Tharoor's support to "Swachh Bharat" campaign. Was it wrong?

Tharoor - a man of controversies since he joined Indian politics. For his praises to Modi, he has received heavy criticism from 'his own people'. Most recently he supported Swachh Bharat Compaign and Modi himself invited him to join the compaign - A clean India, as per Gandhi's principles. Congress blames that it's his move to join hands with BJP though Tharoor denies it. If Tharoor is right, isn't it a right decision for a politician to support a good move initiated by ruling party to do something good for India's better tomorrow?

I don't find anything wrong in it if Tharoor has done so without any hidden intentions. Afterall politicians are meant for serving India's people......

It is indeed a good move to join hands with Modi for Swach Bharat campaign, but this definitely doesn't rule out Tharoor's hidden political agenda, for politicians most of the things are done for political favors, and for publicity.

I cannot but appreciate Tharror's move of joining the "Swatchch Bharat campaign, though he was well known for a plethora of controversies. And I don't see any political hidden agenda behind his move. After all. it's wise for a politician to follow the current trends. Had he not joined Swatchch Bharat campaign of Modi, He would have become more controversial. Kudos to him

Every citizen has a right to join the campaign regardless of what political affiliation they have...However, the party he belongs namely Congress is extremely intolerant when it comes to their dictator like leader who commands and demands that everyone bow down to her and no one else.With all that Shashi Taroor has shown that he is a man who thinks for himself unlike let others do so for him...

It's the same Congress who supports V. S. Achuthanandan, former chief minister and Communist leader, whenever he makes comments on his fellowmen. V. Tharoor is right. But he should have joine campaign only with his party's approval. In fact, such things should be on party to party basis. Cogress could nominate any one- Tharooror some one else.

Sashi Tharoor is one of the active leaders of congress party. When he accepted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call to support "Swatch Bharat Mission" , his party members couldn't recognize him. This is natural. Nothing wrong in that. But At the same-time,Tharoor has made it clear that he was not accepting the Bharatiya Janatha Party's 'core Hindutva agenda'.

Joining a good campaign can't be said as bad. Tharoor is actually being in lots of controversies, his all moves are closely watched by the party.

Shashi Thoorer is a different person, he is person who can say right to right and wrong to wrong. It is right that he member of congress but he is also citizen of India and this program of modi is not for his party BJP it is for whole country. Every political leader is first citizen of India than member of any political party. In his editorial he praised Shatru Ghan Sinha who is a BJP Leader.

The political leaders need to change their approach. The leaders cannot think anything else above the party line which is harmful for any country. The country must come first and then the respective political parties or else no leader will be able to support a good cause and extend their hand of appreciation which is extremely needed for a country to progress.
