Bollywood's most 'Dard Bhara' voice.......

Among male or female playback singers, I feel that no other singer can match with Mukesh if it's some painful or heart broken songs. I still wonder what magic his voice holds, it just have a healing effect and no other singer can express sorrows with this much deepness...I agree, Mohd Rafi and Kishore have also scored some sorrowful philosophical songs, same is the case of Lata and Asha. Yet we have only one Mukesh....Can we even imagine Raj Kapoor's sad expressions in some one else voice? Am I right? Second choice is Jagjit Singh, though he has sung only a few Bollywood songs

Sandhya Rani Yes I agree, the voice of Sehgal and Talat. But I often feel, is it because of poor recording techniques in those days, their voice appear so. Actually no idea..... - Sandhya Rani - 10 years ago

I agree tat there is no match to Mukesh in pathetic songs. But Mohamad rafi could also do well in such songs.

I don't like Mkesh voice because of this reason as most of the songs he sung were sad songs. I like " Jagjit Singh" voice more than anyone when I am in a mood to listen to the sad songs.
Answered
Sandhya Rani So, you agree Mukesh sings sad songs....It's because we hear most of Bollywood's sad songs in his voice...
What about Kahi door jab din jaaye...I am sure this song can be added to your collection, when you are in a mood to listen to the sad songs.

Sanjeev Gupta Yes I like this song of Mukesh of Anand. Its mot that I don't like his voice its just I need a mood to listen to his songs. - Sanjeev Gupta - 10 years ago
Sandhya Rani Surprisingly he has sung only 500 or 600 songs for Bollywood (not sure), but definitely less than 1000. That shows most of his songs were popular indeed.... Though I discussed about sad songs of Mukesh, what about the most romantic and popular track of Bollywood music, Kabhi kabhi mere dil mein, which still mesmerizes everyone, even youngsters.......??/ - Sandhya Rani - 10 years ago
