RK or SRK - Who's Bollywood's best romantic hero?

I am not saying about Raj Kapoor or Ranbir Kapoor or any other actors of Kapoor family. I am saying about Rajesh Khanna - the first superstar of Indian film industry. Later many actors have dominated Bollywood scene, playing romantic and non-romantic roles. Before him too, Dev Anand, Shammi Kapoor, Dharmendra, Joy Mukherjee and Rajendra Kumar did exceptionally well as romantic heroes. Perhaps after Rajesh Khanna, the only superstar who gave new definitions to the word 'romance' is none other than Shah Rukh Khan ... and Hrithik Roshan to some extend. Yet SRK, Hrithik or no other superstars has been able to reach the hysteria or stardom set by Rajesh Khanna.

In your opinion, who is Bollywood's most appealing romantic hero? If you have a third choice, feel free to express (perhaps i might have missed some big name)

Kahan Raja Bhoj our kahan Gangua teli, who can beat the king of Romance RK or Devanand. Not SRK at least, no way.

	But i admire him from the fact that he came from a non-filmy background and had no godfather. Salman Khan's father is a script writer (of Sholay fame) and Aamir Khan was born into a family of film producers. SRK lost both his parents before he received his first film role and he belonged to a middle class family. But I need to admit, SRK has not been able to replicate the magic he has done in the 1990s and early 2000s Actually I like both RK and SRK - the best representation of two generations of Bollywood and it's better we not compare them both, as we know well film strategies of 1970s (melodrama) has almost vanished from scene right now..... - Sandhya Rani - 10 years ago

My vote goes to SRK...like if I have to choose between RK and SRK. But I like him as a actor anymore.

Well, now the fav actor thing keeps changing with each movie and each performance, for example I like Aamir Khan because of his consistent good performance. It is also difficult to choose the best romantic hero of the presen times..the definition of romance has changed...all heroes have shades of black and white. Not sure but I like Ranbir Kapoor and Siddharth Malhotra. - Mousumi Ghosh - 10 years ago

I like Devanand as a romantic hero more than anyone. The way he used to act on romantic songs no one can beat him at least in the present era.

The best romantic hero ever was DILIP Kumar and then Dev Ananad and Rajesh Khanna and of course Shammi Kapoor.... Sharukh Khan does not come anywhere close to any of these icons.He may have made more money and may be considered a superstar but where talent and romanticism goes he falls flat...He is good at speaking mostly about himself and his own achievements and he is extremely manipulative which are all negative qualities , that I personally can never relate to. Among the newer lot I prefer Aamir Khan any day ...

	Aamir Khan as a romantic hero of present times? He has been a chocolate hero of 1990s. But since Ghulam in 1998, he no more handles romantic roles....Sarfarosh, Rang de basanti, 3 Idiots, Doom3, Mangal Pandey, Fanah being the best instances. Actually he has come out of romantic tag since Sarfarosh got released in 2000 - Sandhya Rani - 10 years ago
