Longest running film in your regional language

Now DDLJ is almost set to complete 20 years in Marata Mandir theatre. Still now, it's the longest running Indian movie, What about other languages?

My mother tongue is Malayalam. 'Godfather' released in 1991 is the only Malayalam movie which managed to complete 1 year in theatre. It ran 462 days at Sreekumar theater in Thiruvanthapuram and the record is still to be broken. This multi-star cast movie has Mukesh and Kanaka in lead roles and the movie was directed by Siddhique-Lal, Same Siddhique who made Bodyguard of Salman.

Trivia: The movie was later remade to Hindi by Priyadarshan with Akshay Khanna and Kareena Kapoor in lead roles and the movie 'Hulchul' was a box office hit though it was not able to repeat the success of its original.

My language is Rajasthani. In recent days there are no such movies in Rajasthani language which are in the cinemas for many days. But in olden days movies like "Bye Chali Sasariye" were few good hits which were in the cinema halls for many days.

In my language no film was made that can match with the DDLJ. But there are films made in Telugu Movies which had a tremendous 'Re-Run ' values. That is a film made 40 years ago like Devdas (Telugu), Patala Bhairavi, Maya Bazaar to name a few earn the same amount at the Box office as they earned when they were released 40 years ago. These films are said to be the 'Trend Setters" in The Telugu cinema Industry.

It would be movies of Dr RajKumar who acted in many wonderful films that were super successes... Bangarada Manushya is probably the most watched film of all times in Kannada.
