Do u believe music will return back to the melody form once again?

Nothing is stationary and everything changes with time. If it's the case of Bollywood music, after the melodious era (1950's to 1970's), there came the worst era of Hindi music. As per critics' opinion, 1980's is the worst era of Hindi music. But with the morning of 1990's, again melody ruled the stage and it continued up to late 2000's. Again, melody has lost somewhere. More than the melodious voice of Shreya, Sonu, Alka or Kavita, new voices are given preference. Wild rhythms are given first preference than quality singing.

I do firmly believe that there is an end of everything and it should follow another cycle. So melody should return back when people get bored. Am I right?

Melody will always be there . Once in a while,melodius songs are must to keep faith in feel good side of music.Melody in indian music will always remain.

Return from where? Music is always there in the movies only thing is, it has changed as per the interest of changing generation. Or maybe the younger generation was interested the old melodious era but the composer found it easy to copy western and offer it as their own. But we still have mixture and people still like the old melodious school of music. The day composer will realize that, they will come back to that.

Earlier Malayalam songs were purely based on carnatic or light music...even in the late 2000's. Now it's a rush and trend of new generation cinema in Malayalam...it appears as if they are imitating stories of Bollywood. Most of those are stories based on extramarital affairs. So, concept of music has also changed. Westernized tunes and instruments have killed Malayalam music. Let me hope, both Hindi and Malayalam return back to melodies - Sandhya Rani - 11 years ago

I think with entry of more fresh singers with lovely voice and fans preferring melody over electronic beats, melody will no doubt return. It had never left in the first place, but was pushed back in a corner. But with entry of new singers such as Shalmali Kholgade etc. melodious voices are again coming to the front!

Earlier female voices were counted sweet. Now, in a world, when women try to imitate men in each and everything to believe themselves to be better, they try to sing in male voices as well. Now 'hatke' voices are ruling the charts - Sandhya Rani - 11 years ago

I think it is like cycle in every field. New things take place and yes after a period old things comes to fashion as well. So yes may be it can come back.

Every thing- fashion, clothes, literature follow cyclic trends. So the old trends reappear. So melody may again appear.
