What do you know about the patriotic song, "Ai Mere Watan Ke logon, Jara Aankh bharlo Paani"?

Written by Kavi Pradeep and composed by C. Ramchandra, this song was originally meant to be sung by Asha Bhosale. But Lata Mangeshkar realized the fame and honor that the singer of this song would get and she somehow moved strings so that the song was taken away from Asha and she got the opportunity to sing it. Still, she has done full justice to the song and immortalized it forever. She first performed the song in the presence of Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru at the Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi on Republic Day (26 January) 1963, two months after the war with the China ended.
