Interval training is one of the hottest trends circulating the fitness market,This is done AFTER your workout. You would get the hint from the word "interval" itself. you start with a warm up walk or jog for 4 minutes, then sprint for one minute, then again jog for 4 minutes, and sprint for 1minute. Then slow down and jog for 4 minutes. Finish off with a slow walk FOR ANOTHER 4 mins and a 20 minute stretch.
What makes interval training so special? I agree that normal running at a steady pace does burn calories, but your body adapts to increased workload. Soon, even though the time you run may have gone up to a half hour from fifteen minutes YOU WILL STILL BE BURNING THE SAME AMOUNT OF CALORIES.
