Cholesterol is a fat like substance, which blocks the network of arteries through which the blood flows out of our heart into our body. Naturally our body produces cholesterol, but at the same time we have some food items that have cholesterol in them. Cholesterol is required for digestion, making some hormones in the body. Cholesterol can be of two types LDL and HDL, LDL is bad for our body and HDL is good for our body. HDL carries cholesterol from our entire body and deposits in the liver which is then flushes out cholesterol out of our system.
It coats the blood vessels on the inside thereby constricting them and slowly blod flow into the heart decreases which can cause major upheavals in our system and eventually lead to heart attacks and more serious heart problems ...
Cholesterol narrows the passage of arteries through which the blood flows. If the artery is narrow, naturally, it exerts pressure on the arteries.. Blood cannot get the required dose blood.
When the level of bad cholesterol (LDL) goes high ti can get deposited in the arteries thereby reducing the flow of blood to the heart. This is one of the major risk factor for myocardial infarction (heart attack).
