Stress affects even a normal person and losing weight in stressful conditions is quite challenging. The challenge increases in case of hypothyroidism. Here is a link I found which thoroughly deals with issues of hypothyroidism and weight problems. Hope this is helpful!
My sister suffered from Hypothyroidism and gained weight. There is almost no treatment available for this anywhere in the world but in a very limited places. My sister was under the treatment in Chandigarh PGI and recovered somewhat. Now she can move on her own but still not able to shed her extra pounds fully.

me too is hypothyroid. Yet TSH is normal as I take medicine everyday. Very often, i feel that my weight is not stable...it may gain or loss so suddenly. I don't know if Thyronome can really increase one's weight. I have been taking continuously for years.

Stress and tension can affect a healthy person too. In case of a hypothyroid person it become all the more easy to put on weight. Only way to deal with hypothyroid is to do at least 15mins cardio and take her/his medis regularly and avoid having tea and coffee or anything edible until half-an-hour after taking the medicine.
