The best home remedy for curing acidity is 'salichya lahya' I am sure you know what it is, we use for naivedya during Diwali. Just eat a handful of these with 'Khadi sakhar' or boil the lahya in water, cool the water, strain and drink. It is very good for acidity. Second best cure for acidity is eating piece of jaggery.
The best way to get rid of acidity is to regularize your eating habits, morning walk, a proper difference in between meals and to learn what items exactly cause you acidity. Drinking lots of water should help but do not use lemon because it might increase acidity. Any citrus fruits may prove harmful.
Food and water play a very vital role in everyone's health. If you don't know how to intake foods and water in a proper manner you will suffer. Regular and plenty of water can reduce acidity. Many people tend to drink water straight after meals. Don't do that. You can drink water after one hour of having meals. This will help to reduce acidity. Stay away from citrus fruits and foods. Drinking cold milk is a great option and eat 5 frequent small meals instead of a 3 huge meals and make sure to drink a lot of water to drive away acidity
Milk without adding sugar or heating it is one of the best remedies I have tried myself. Apart from that I have personally even used jaggary. I really can;t comment about other things.
