There are several uses of Rosemary apart from just cooking. Rosemary is used to add flavour to many dishes and as garnishing. Rosemary is also planted in the garden to keep away mosquitoes and in many cases, to keep away cats, because of its strong odour. It is also used as tonic for hair and to promote healthy growth. Rosemary is also known for a number of healing properties and so is used in Aromatherapy, to prevent or to inhibit Alzheimer's and Lou Gehrig's diseases etc. In some countries, traditionally, bundles of rosemary is given along with wedding gifts, graduations, and baby showers. When used in boiling water and the steam inhaled, it helps relieve nasal congestion and therefore, is used to treat bronchitis, flus and colds and coughs.
