It depends on how the person is brought up. Those who have more restriction for small things too in the childhood more often get that attitude of fearing with taking new steps in life than others.
Analyse the fear. Confront whatever it is you're afraid of directly. If your fear is truly dangerous, find a way to destroy it. Change the way you think and you change the way you act. Deliberately try to program right thoughts into your head every single day. Realize the best defence from fear is a good offence. Use methods to control your unrealistic fear.
Most of us are hesitant to take the first step. Just you need to self motivate before commencing anything. Once you begin, hesitation ends and you do. That is why it is said that well begun is half done.
Cowardness is great drawback which keeps people away from victory. If somebody has fear of anything, he should face it again and again. Automatically he will become confident and face the situation maturely.
