Why chefs are mostly men?
Since ancient ages, men has been the breadwinner of the families and ladies, perfect homemaker who prepare dishes and look after children. In the male dominated world, there was an era when cooking was exclusively reserved as 'ladies' job', and many still believe, females are best cooks comparing their husbands. But why, if we look close the chefs across the world, the world famous chefs are men? Why only a few ladies have taken culinary as profession?
I often feel that women are not given enough freedom to exhibit their talent in the art of culinary, and hence men overtook them in this profession also. It's true to some extend. If so, why ladies choose IT, banking, marketing, teaching or research as profession, and have shinned in respective fields? Despite being talented in the art of cooking, why they rarely think of choosing it as a profession? Any idea?
