Jack of all trades or master of one?

"Jack of all trades and master of none" - An old proverb, which says that you should master and concentrate to one particular talent/aim to become successful, rather than learning many things......The proverb indirectly means that if we concentrate our time and brain in more than one task, it won't reach anywhere.

Is this saying wise in present era? What do you say? Should we master only one talent or become a 'jack', who knows more than one piece of information? In present generation, is it not wise to learn at least 2 or more things, as competition has also increased? And to which category do you fit yourself to?

The proverb is Jack of all trades but master of none, I would rather be that than be a master of one and not have the time nor the inclination to know about others...

The best is to master of one trade but one should have some introduction with all trades. That is why you study all subjects upto matric level and expert knowledge in a particular subject thereafter. .

The proverb is "Jack of all trades and Master of none"- for me or anybody else it is better to be master of one and gain a proficiency level..certainly we can't be masters in everything/every field but it is good to be jack for rest of the things so that we know about other things/subject matter as well.

At one time, I was a jack of all trades and master of none. It used to give me thrill. But later, I found what I'm losing. I stopped 17 of my different trades, only to focus on 2 trades. Writing and painting. This enabled me focus on these 2 trades and allowed me to invent new ventures. Allowed me to widen my knowledge base.

I think it should be trade in place of fruits. If I was jack of all fruits I would have been a Mango or Jack-fruit. Fortunately I'm Jack of none but master of all hehehehehe

In the present world, Jack of all trades has a better chance over master of one.
