Rainbow Nation is the term coined by Archbishop Desmond Tutu after South Africa's first ever fully democratic elections in 1994, before which and after that too South Africa was completely riddled with problems of apartheid, ie, racial discrimination against the original black inhabitants in the continent. Nelson Mandela also took up this term and described it as being synonymous with the African continent that is beautifully coloured due to the various species of beautiful flowering trees, birds, animals etc. and envisioned South Africa as such, a beautiful nation that is at peace with itself and the world, hence Rainbow Nation, and where people of different cultural diversities and colours living together in perfect harmony.
South Africa is basically made of people coming from various parts of the world in varying colors. The original blacks are in majority, then came the British, German and Dutch people alos Arabs and Indians who all made it their home, this is the reason why Nelson Manedela called it a Rainbow nation, made of many colors and hues !
Damn the seven hell's...I don't have a long explanation but the simple truth about rainbow nation is that Nelson Mandela believed that every human being from South Africa is connected to the nature and its soil because there are many tribes among them but they are like a rainbow...different bodies but one soul.
South Africa is one of the beautiful Nation. Multi-cultures people live together.
Word 'Rainbow Nation' shows unity of the people of various cultures groups.
