Because the politicians are only looking out for their own personal interests along with amassing wealth for their respective properties. Large-scale and deep-rooted corruption at all levels are existent only because of these politicians who supposedly get a cut of their own from all large-scale scams and corruption plots. While doing all this plotting and stuff, where will they get time to help common people?
Where do politicians come from. Everyone comes from the same population. a politician role is to coordinate work of various organizations and departments that consist of members of same population. Ultimately quality of management and administration depends on quality of people.
Most of the people has tendency to live in torturous conditions. They don't want to protest or fight against wrong doers. Politicians are few but the masses are many. These few hands try to work as they can.
They are the firm believers in the adage, "Self help is the best help." They also believe in setting an example in helping themselves, so that they become our Role-Models.
Why do you think they become politicians? They (most of them) are there to recover their costs before thinking about public and then making future of their next 10 generations safe. They are doing for the future generation not for present lot.
Our system itself breeds corruption and corrupt practices. An individual has to spend crores to contest an election and win and after all that he/she wants to earn it back, so the vicious cycle goes on...so where is the time to do anything else including the job for which they contested the elections...
Being greedy and selfish prevent politicians from helping people who actually selected them as their representatives. Politicians involve themselves in corruption just because of their greedy and selfish nature. Most of them consider their families as their state or country. It would be better if they consider their state or country as their families instead.
