A gland is defined as any group of cells that manufactures and releases substances for use somewhere else in the body. The liver is the largest gland and the largest internal organ in the human body.

There are some differences between organ and gland.A gland is defined as any group of cells that manufactures and releases substances for use somewhere else in the body.An organ is a collection of tissues joined in a structural unit to serve a common function. Most of the glands are organs too. For example liver is considered both an organ and a gland.
When asked largest gland it is liver.
But when asked largest organ it is not liver. It is skin. Though skin has numerous sweat and sebaceous glands it is considered only as an organ.
