Mandatory caning in addition to rigorous imprisonment is suggested. The caning session should be videoed and widely circulated so as to shame the convicts. Secondly, criminal law administrative machinery needs be streamlined. It is more important to see that the criminals do not escape punishment. Certainty of punishment is more important than its severity.

I think the punishments like gulf countries give to the criminals for doing heinous crimes should be implemented too India may be that would be helpful to reduce crimes.

I agree with the Sanjeev but they must be implemented here. We need severe laws all must fear to do a crime.

Depending on severity of crime. the punishment should be there at the earliest. Implementation should be there without exceptions. A court verdict is final. It need not go to the president

Depending upon the crime, criminals should be punished severely and the justice should not take very long time in punishing. If punishments like in Saudi Arabia government I think crime rate may come down
