In the Geeta, the great spiritual book of Hinduism, its said, Helping others in need without expecting returns is the noblest of all the deeds, I donated blood umpteen times without knowing to whom my blood has gone. Needless to say that i didn't expect any returns from the receivers of my blood.
Help is always without expecting returns. Help for getting returns is really no help but only business. However selfless help benefits in long run in many ways. A helpful man gains popularity and others will help him gladly when he needs.
I never keep any expectation when i help any elder. I don't have those thinking in my mind. We should help others without keeping expectation. On the back of your mind, you just need to believe that you will something from GOD. GOD is very kind and we should not worry about return.
