Should politicians be dissuaded from interfering with the policies pertaining to education?

Also, in Maharashtra, it is the powerful politicians who found various educational institutions. My opinion is that they should not be allowed to do so since the focus is only on making money through these rather than impart education. What is the general opinion?

Most of the Politicians in India are uneducated and have no business heading an educational institute or making policies that can have far reaching effects on the country's student population and the quality of the education system !

Politicians can interfere in any matter as much as an ordinary citizen can as long as it's not related to his own portfolio. However if he is doing it unnecessarily, he should certainly be stopped from doing it.

Politician is also a citizen of India and cannot be prevented from doing any lawful work. A politician need not be full time in politics. He may also contribute in field of education. The stress should be on removing irregularities from field of education. There can be no objection to anyone runing educational institution according to law and accepted norms.
