You can do this by following methods : ---------------------

1)Do not download any toolbars in the browser

2)Do not download some software such as GEARS etc on the computer .

3)You can use No script software

4)Put yourself behind the Proxy server.

From sites..

Well they can't track your activity unless you have downloaded any stuff like unknown software or toolbar on your browser. So don't download anything from unknown sites.

Block Ads and Super Cookies before they are downloaded. There are other ways too. Look at this link.
