Why is there no points for answering a question

Answering a question also takes lot of effort then why was the points system removed for it. I also see that best answerer award is not won by anyone. Is this award removed.

Rajani, the points for answering questions is not removed, in fact I am getting points when I answer but it is not shown on the top just like its shown on forum pages. I suggest you check your account info for the points credited in QnA! If its not been credited, PM Maverick

Also since quality questions and answers are not being posted any more, for a long time, this award has not been announced in a long time. To win this award, you really need good questions and subsequent good answers.

Rajani after you answer the question, you can check the my account section you will the points awarded to you for answering a question, yes you won't find the points on the top of this page.
