Competent or incompetent, if one works for the ruling party he can get a teaching job or for that matter other jobs in the government sector. This was perfected by the last LF government in Bengal and likely to continue in the present regime. Be it Lalu or Nitish, this is a vote bank creation any politician may indulge in.

Not only Bihar or WB, but all over the country it works the same way. either loosen sackfuls of money or bring a politician to claim he or she is your brother, sister, father, uncle, chacha, mama etc. to get job as a teacher! :blink:

There was a news item in the local papers here about a vilage school in our state where the high school students were given tasks to perform in the head masters house.Each day different students were sent to iron clothes,help his wife in shopping,help in cooking lunch and bring it to school etc etc...Inspite of knowing this the government is unable to do anything because noone will complain least of all the students concerned since they enjoy these outings ...When there is no commitment to the job you are required to do this is what happens ! I feel that teaching staff needs an overall training before they are fit to teach !

Yikes! :blink: There was even more disgusting news in a school in Maharashtra, a senior teacher in a school for deaf and dumb was photographed getting her feet massaged by young children from her class! It was revealed that she did this very often, after the news leaked, parents were outraged and an FIR was filed against her following which she was suspended. But then teachers getting students to do their personal tasks like servants is not really new! :blink:

They probably think they have a right do that taking a leaf out of old Gurukula system where Guru was supreme and the Shishyas did everything including press their feet :cheer:

Probably so...but the gurus back then were an epitome of morality, integrity, wisdom etc. etc. and gave all their knowledge very sincerely and lovingly to their pupils in return! The least these teachers are doing for their children is quite basic!
