It is not the case any more, Teachers once they are made permanent get a good salary here in my state almost equal to central government pay scale. With the added benefits it is ore than suufficient to take care of a family's needs..

True..permanent teachers in Maharashtra get salaries according to sixth pay commission! In effect even a teacher who is extremely poor in teaching will get anywhere between 30 to 40, 000 per month, that can hardly be called meager!

Yikes! :blink: There was even more disgusting news in a school in Maharashtra, a senior teacher in a school for deaf and dumb was photographed getting her feet massaged by young children from her class! It was revealed that she did this very often, after the news leaked, parents were outraged and an FIR was filed against her following which she was suspended. But then teachers getting students to do their personal tasks like servants is not really new! :blink:
