It is really sad to see the plight of people there. The only strong and solid presence is that of our Jawans who have been helping out as mush as they can...There are some known people who have gone from here and are stranded and according to them, the officials have not visited the spot nor anyone else.Only the army personnel gave them some food packets and the local villagers too helped, and some media persons were there along with them...

Now the help is pouring in. As a first installment center released Re. 145 crores to U'Khand. Many Govt.officials reached the nearest accessible spots like Dehradun and Rishikesh. From there rescue operations are supervised. rescue operations cannot be carried in full swing till the washed out roads and bridges are repaired.

Dehradun and Rishikesh are far off from the point of disaster but it's al right since army is doing very good job along with paramilitary forces. Hopefully they will bring situation under control soon if it does not rain further.

First foremost job is restoring the roads and bridges to facilitate the rescue operations. U'Khand collector said it would take a week to restore normalcy.

Supreme court orders will not speed up the rescue operations, unless the damaged toads and bridges are repaired. And its going on.

I understand that the construction of roads in Uttarakhand is entrusted to Border roads Organization. Military is also involved and so that organization would be looking after the infrastructure. Army is quick to make temporary bridges in short time. But a damage of such large magnitude cannot be recouped overnight.

Now that is beyond control of human being, governments can do only within their control only but rain will certainly delay the process and in hills it makes big difference where you do not have alternate ways to reach,

Yes. Nothing can be predicted as far as relief measures are concerned. So many variables are there.
Now Indian navy is also helping in the operations. The navy persons are good at diving in water.

A good sign. The swift currents and the rocky terrain will make the things difficult. Anyhow the dead bodies are now bring swept to the shores.
