    The most awaited event of the year has come...Monsoon has set in two days early in Kerala and southernmost part of Tamilnadu ... We in Mangalore should have monsoon rains in 2 days time !

    You will enjoy of first rain and its scent. You know when few drops of rain fall on hot sand the scent which come out from it is best one. We have to wait for one month for rain.


    Yes that is true, when the earth surface gets heated and baked all through the summer, this is bound to happen.In fact you see steam coming out of the earths surface when it rains for the first time...


    Yes with steam scent also coming out from earth. I like to much.

    Incessant rain lashes different parts of Tamilnadu ,and brings back those golden smiles in the face of farmers.


    If the rainfall is normal, its good. But in AP, every monsoon brings misery by flooding the agricultural land .

    When will the rain bring smile on our faces here in rajasthan its too hot here in the daytime and even in nights also one cannot sleep without AC and another problem is of electricity cut, which has no time.....We are egarly waiting for monsoon....come soon..... :( :(

    Our prayers are answered. At last we had a good rainfall. But low lying areas were flooded.


    TThats good to hear ! It must be a relief after all that sizzling heat your state experienced the past month or so...Hopefully the temperature would come down considerably now !


    A drastic reduction in temperature. Cool breezes are flowing. Right now rain stopped, But coolness in the atmosphere is there.


    At least in the beginning the cities look clean when all the dirt collected over the year on trees,fences and roof tops gets washed away..

    Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

    With increased rainfall, dirt in the underground drainages is making way on to the roads and low lying ares.

    Its good to know that its raining in Kerala. Don't know when its going to be in Delhi as we people are really struggling from the hot waves these days. Little bit of showers has decreased the temperature but its now increased. :evil:

    Some southern states are facing problem of drought. It is good news for them. Now they relax from water problem which they are fcing for long time. happy rain.


    In Karnataka we always have this problem of Kavery river water sharing with Tamilnadu, there have been times when the crops have dried here because of lack of water but water was let out for Tamilnadu because of supreme court orders...I am sure if there are more dams built on both sides the problem could be solved to some extent.As of now it is great to have good rainfall all over the state...

    We have regular heavy rains now here for the last 4-5 days which start late in the afternoons and last until nightfall. Two days before it was the heaviest causing flash floods in various places and people getting washed away! Most touching incident was when a young woman with a baby of 1.3 years got washed away, the baby is yet to be found! :(
