Monsoon like other natural phenomenon is uncertain and unpredictable. We have no option but to accept this. all we need is alternative irrigation facilities in case of drought and flood control measures in even of excess rain.
Connecting river is best alternative to check floods and fight with drought.
Many years ago, connecting the rivers was proposed. But it has never taken a shape.
As it is there are enough problems with water sharing....I wonder how things will work out if they plan on connecting the rivers !!! In Karnataka every year during the height of summer the problem comes up when Tamil Nadu demands water to be released and there is not enough water in the reservoir to meet the states own demands...
