    Those sticks are called Stilts and the sport is stilt-walking!

    yes, sandhya, those shoes are looking like stilts. I have seen many times this sport in home town. But it is really dangerous.

    Reminds me of the pole dancers or people walking tall sitting on shoulders of others well covered. But I certainly would not touch such shoes because I am already 183 cm and oranges look like lemons to me.

    You get to see it in circus and also at certain religious occasions when they have procession now for Dasara etc...Stilt walking needs a lot of practice and balance, have seen some youngsters practicing it in the grounds here..

    Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

    Women will have a lot of difficulty, when they would wear these kind of shoes. So, i don't think women would prefer to wear such kind of shoes. Comfort would not be there in these shoes.
    I have heard that wear big heal, affect legs.
    So, its better to avoid.

    using such shoes is also extremely dangerous.......even high heals is not good for your back bone :evil:
