We celebrate Guru Nanak Birthday, Budha jayanti, Krishna janmashtmi, Ram navami. Are all these not birth day celebrations? Birth day Celebration is very much part of Indian traditions. There may be only procedural differences between western and Indian styles.

Santosh- you asked why members are discussing religion whereas topic is whether life or death is true.
The matter of life and death is closely linked with religious belief. The Hindus believe that life is eternal as only body ends and not the soul. Muslims and Christians also believe in eternal existence of soul till the judgment day (kaymat) when God or Allah will award reward/ punishment. The atheists and rationalists base their opinion on scientific inquiry and not religion. Thus, the matter of 'life' and 'death' is linked to religious beliefs and hence members are giving religious content.
