I think many less members in our country has not taken dowry.

But my father and brother...both married without dowry :woohoo:
Actually about my father...it was love at first sight...but I forget to share it that time in "Love at first sight" thread. I remembered it now only :P

No I did not give any dowry!! Ours was in fact the most contemporary kind of marriage, a civil marriage before the registrar followed by a reception for relatives and friends, the cost of which was shared equally by me and my husband, no parents' money involved, not even a single rupee!!!

Well, my father had just expired about two months before my marriage and my mother was not really her usual self! In any case, it was decided by both of us to not take anything from anyone, a decision we never regret and are still proud of!
