If you don't have answer for the question raised by the interviewer, never try to reply with irrelevant answers.
This is the important thing one must not answer irrelevantly I have seen people in interview who try to answer every question asked though they may not be correct which may irritate the interviewer.So one must be careful while answering. :blink:
We should not answer irrelevant, but if some idea is there about that question, do you still suggest, for not answering those questions. Atleast, the interviewer will get some idea that the person has some idea.

Very true, showing off your little knowledge or even no knowledge in some cases without being sure is definitely not going to help since one can easily see through such tactics.It is better to answer only questions put to you without straying from the topic and also say only what you are sure and definite about...
