Never say never in technology. Ipads are smaller versions of laptops and your application may already be there or may be on its way.

I have an I pad. There are apps which are useful for amateurs. Desktop is the only gadget that enables me to draw advanced digital paintings. If that provision is there in I pad, then i will see.

Laptops come with all necessary provisions for professionals especially for designers since they need certain specialised apps for their work..One can do everything that one can do on desktop with much more comfort and at place of your choice with a laptop !

I agree. Laptops too are provided with apps that enable one design professional standards. But I'm more comfortable with desktop.

Desktop required more space. It is my suggestion that if some one can afford laptop than they must be buy laptop. If wants to type for long time than desktop is better, but we can also use laptop as desktop. Laptop put on the table, connect key bord and mouse and use it as desktop.
