Listening is considered as one of the most ingredients of effective communication.
I even keep a glass of water within my easy reach (whenever possible). This is just in case I feel irritated hearing a unbearable person talking too much I can keep my cool and keep listening him !)
Obviously, you are adhering to the concept of " Listening" in letter and spirit. People like you are effective communicators. Kudos to uou Sunil.
Absolutely, power of expression while listening is important. Many a times, I find the tone of voice might be rugged but the expression provides real salutation to words. Listening with ears and eyes pave the way for brilliant understanding of statements. Listening is one of most sincerest forms of respects to other words. Pathetic is that most people never listens.

Those who refuse to listen will be creating not only confusion to themselves but also to the others. Effective communicators are intense listeners.
I am guilty of not listening when the talker goes on and on about some topic that does not interest me...But ideally one must give a patient hearing when someone is speaking .
Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

You bet I do- I would have not survived in marketing for that long if I did not know how to manage them (and myself)

Ya marketing people have to do that else they will have a head ache daily. I would prefer to listen and neglect what we don't like. I know it's hard to that but one should do that to remain happy in life..
People may hear your words but they feel your attitude, everything we hear is an opinion not fact. Everything we see is a perspective not truth.
