Indian show in Davos World Economic Forum
Will India be the next engine for development that again is not a mere slogan but the topic of world economic forum going on in Davos, Switzerland? There is no doubt that India has all the possibilities of economical development at a very rapid rate therefore, Indian government is keeping its hopes in personal investments coming from each and every quarters.
Meanwhile, expectations are already very high for investment that will give boost to the industries as all the efforts are under process for establishing in startups which will need lot of money in the beginning. There is some doubts in the mind of investors but the investors that know about India and its democracy know the Indian democracy is nothing short of ‘free for all, but it works in the end.
Most Indians support the way present government working style despite the fact the scenario might look chaotic to the opposition parties but that is natural as Indian democracy works very much in that particular fashion. We can’t force our opposition toe the line of government even if they know that government policies are going in right direction.
Let’s come back to the Indian growth story, there is no doubt about the fact that we are slow in certain fields but the way is wide open and we are moving in right direction. If India as expected focuses on getting funds from all sources especially foreign direct investment as equal partners in Indian growth journey there are possibilities that India can achieve a double digit growth rate.
India with changed policies in industrial sector is showing signs of stability which is a crucial point for foreign investors to go ahead with their planned projects. Indian banking sector is showing excellent growth rate by adopting new technologies. The latest theme for the development is focused on industrial growth with a perfect combination in between banks and industry for future stability.
Home Equipment and Appliances in India
It would sound like boasting but the fact that India is among the top countries with most number of domestic equipment consumers. Indian domestic manufacturers are not only producing large number of equipments and appliances but producing them with in competition with world’s best manufacturers. Companies like Super Domestic, TTK Prestige, Bajaj Electric, Hawkins, Havells India, Siemens, Crompton Greave, Godrej, Samsung India, Voltas, Usha and now Patanjali etc are doing a wonderful job providing quality appliances for Indian consumers and for export purpose.
Indian manufacturers took a hint from their foreign counterparts after the independence and soon entered in collaboration with different foreign companies but we have several indigenous companies playing the role of leaders among gadget manufacturers. If we go by the recent surveys the domestic appliances refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, kitchen chimney, microwave oven are fast reaching to maximum Indian households at a brisk rate and refrigerator still remains the most sold appliance of all these equipments.
India and Indian manufacturing sector has improved a lot in last couple of decades. For instance, an Indian couple living aboard introduced a bread making appliance two years before which became an instant hit and now being sold in large numbers by different manufacturers. The story of Indian manufacturing sector began post independence but Indian government kept large manufacturers out of domestic appliances sector but kept this limited to smaller and cottage industry sector with a maximum investment limit. The appliances like ceiling fans, heaters, Irons and table fans were reserved for small industry sector only.
The bigger groups like Bajaj and Usha were selling these products under their own brand name with their strict quality control but when the limit was taken off later and the bigger players like Birla and Tata entered into the field of manufacturing, the Indian domestic appliances scenario changed entirely. Now our appliances have become smarter, consume lesser electricity and work according to need of the consumer. For instance the washing machines manufactured a decade back had a single speed rotation but the modern technology used now let the washing machine do everything on automatic basis from water level to the drying point. Overall the Indian appliances and equipment has reached to a point where we can compete with international market.
India’s poverty and facts
India is the country with diverse cultural values is altogether different country that is growing at rapid rate but there is so much to see and learn for people coming from distant countries expecting to see poor and poverty. True, some of these are facts but there is another India story which one witness only when he visits India.
Visiting India will change some of your values and opinions. People from all over the world come here to see snake charmers, poverty, beggars and of course thinking they can travel in a distant country for one fifth of cost compared to other rich countries. But when they arrive here and see the rich culture and joy of life they change their opinion.
Tourism- A potential contributor
India has so much to offer for visitors that come here for longer trips and visit places which showcase the rich heritage of this ancient country. If you please excuse me for saying so the visitors come here for seeing the richness of this country in true sense they see the real richness in people living a simple life in far flung areas having no modern facilities but inner peace and struggle for a better life but without any complaint whatsoever.
The visitors that come to see the real beauty of India go to see Konark temple, Khajuraho, Ajantha caves, Valley of Flowers and Jammu & Kashmir. They go find it in Dudhsagar Waterfall in Goa, Brackish Lagoons in Alleppey of Kerala and Dhanushkoti Beach in Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu state. The travelers who come to see the real India goes to Kaziranga National Forest in Assam, Bhitarkanika Wetland in Kendrapara, Ganges Delta of Haldia, Meadows of Kanha, Coral Reef in Lakshadweep.
India has so much to offer to Nature lovers in Himalayas starting from Hardwar to Kedarnath and Almorah to the Zanskar Valley one of the most beautiful places keeping visitors spellbound. People who come to see real India go to Kerala, the God’s own country, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to see the culture of the land of Rama and Krishna. They go to Delhi to see the glorious Moghul period, Agra to see the monument of love the Taj Mahal. I suggest you to come to India and see what is on the offer that will leave you speechless.
Human Nature and Changes
Conflicts in between human nature and changes are a permanent feature and it’s never easy to decide how many changes should we accept and how many are forced on us. But we all feel in terms as if whatever is going on in our lives is not as per our choice. Here lies the basic problem as we wish to change but how much, is there a limit for a change or is there really a need of a change?
If you believe Dr. David DiSalvo, the famous writer and educationalist he feels living your life according to your choice you will have to change your nature. If you read his book “What Makes Your Brain Happy and Why You Should Do the Opposite”. I am quoting him-
“Since our brains are adept at finding and drawing conclusions from patterns, it's not surprising that coincidences captivate our attention.” ― David DiSalvo,
If you think minutely you will feel that there goes a constant battle in between your ideas and nature and the need of change is never ever reached successfully. Then what is the right solution for such a case and that shakes our self-confidence. Actually when there is no perfect combination in between our nature and thoughts that prompt us for improvement we feel disappointed.
Let’s look at the problem from this angle. If we keep on changing ourselves at the slightest of suggestions coming from within us then it will be difficult to adjust with society and if we do not change our “self” will not let us live normally. It’s like walking on a double edged sword which is not an easy proposition.
So what should we do? The answer is, stay somewhere within your own normal and natural limit but without being too adamant. If you can bring positive changes without refusing to be persuaded or having to change your mind then there is no harm doing that if it can bring peace of mind for you. But it’s entirely your choice how much change you can accept easily.
So what should I do?
Have you ever gone through the situation when you gave your best for completing all necessities and doing everything required to finish your project but when the time came to submit your work you were informed that the requirements have been changed and you have to work again from the beginning on that particular project! Isn’t it a tough proposition?
Now look at another possibility of a failed project the person you were depending on for completion of a particular project but he withdrew his support at the very moment when you were expecting it least and you had no option but to give up your dream project.
My question at this point is how do you react in any of the situations mentioned above? There is a short statement expressing a general truth the person that knows to smile instead of feeling dejected or getting angry has better chances of coming out of his problems from such a situation. The people who know how to face the complicated moments can always handle the situation in far better way.
We all know the fact that life is not bed of roses but we have to face problems at every point whether at work or home. There is always a chance that we shall have to be prepared to cross a hurdle to reach to our desired destination changing according to circumstances.
And when I say about changes I don’t mean to change our ideology but it’s all about our strategies. I agree we cannot change our circumstances immediately at the onset of any problem but we can certainly change our focus which provides us with new possibilities.
Actually it all depends upon your mental and physical status and the fact that one does not learn to face problems overnight. Once you learn how to face the problems and the art of fighting with obstacles how not to lose your balance you will find yourself better prepared reaching to target even more easily.
Desires are necessary for a better life
Okay, I agree with you on one point here. Desires play a big role in progress of human life. For example take my case when I need something but cannot decide where to begin with or have no idea clue where to start. I go in the nearby Himalayan forests or to the bank of River Ganges and sit there for hours just wishing that situation will change according to my own desires. And trust me at most of the times I reach to a conclusion which satisfies me as per my desires.
You know an expert boatman always does his job tactfully in the flow or sometime against the flow but he always leaves us at our destination. Every expert boatman knows his limitation and allows only limited number of passengers according to capacity of his boat. Desires are like oars in the hands of our boatmen propelling the small boats and guiding them in our journey across the river. As I said in the beginning desires play the role of motivator in our life.
At most times I know my desire for something I so dearly want or a person whom I so badly wish to see beside me as if my entire existence depends on that but not able to gather enough courage to admit that. I have tried to suppress some of my desires at times but as long my desires were genuine I never succeeded doing that. For me forcibly ending my desires was never acceptable to me so I never did that.
I feel some of my desires were not genuine but I have my own ways of diverting my attention from my ingénue desires. I divert my attention toward my writing projects, my books or my online world that clears all my doubts. Let me share a secret with you my desires force change my passions, my values, my strengths, and my motivations but everything that happens in the process happens for the betterment of my life.
So I repeat here at this point that it really depends upon your mental and physical status and the fact will remain that one doesn’t learn how to face problems, and you can’t do it overnight. But, once you recognize and learn how to face the art of fighting with obstacles and how not to lose your balance then you will certainly find yourself perfectly prepared and reach your target easily.
Smile- The Secret of Life
There is no particular reason to smile although it’s not easy to smile during painful situations or when you’re facing the difficult phase of life but if you manage to smile at such times you will instantly reduce some of your troubles if not all. I can quote hundreds of sayings at this moment but what I recall best at this moment is what I read Charlie Chaplin a long time ago. He said something to this effect,
“There are lots of problems in my life but my lips are unknown to them”.
We all face situations when everything was going well in our life but suddenly something bad happened and an unexpected problem impeded the movement or hampered the smooth running of life. There are times when we face the question of survival deep within us. There are times when you feel ‘why I have to face so many troubles in my life, why me?’ But you’re not alone, there are thousands other facing problems in their life but the difference is they are able to manage their troubles behind a smile.
If you ask me about how you manage to live looking so cool then there is a simple answer for your query. Look at what you have in your hands and I suggest here to forget what you have already lost, because it will not come back. There is no use weeping for dead as your cries will increase your own problem, but won’t bring them back. You won’t forget your dear ones for rest of your life but if weeping could bring them back I don’t think anyone was ever going to die. I suggest you should live in the present and try to find your happiness availing what you have in your hands.
You feel bad when you see someone suffering from illness for a long time and you help him as best as you can, you provide him with financial support, moral support. But the things change when you find yourself in similar situation that is the time your real test begins when your mental peace, money and health is on stake and facing them successfully becomes the condition of survival. Here lies the secret of smile if you can still manage to smile you will manage to face your problems without many problems.
Self-Love and a Loving Smile
A loving smile can change your life and that also helps increase your overall health but bigger changes come in our lives when we learn the art of loving ourselves. In other words the art of loving to our own self takes us to a point where we learn about our qualities. I have been training young professionals and teaching them art of self-motivation for 4 years now and reached to the conclusion that there is no better solution for any problem than ‘self-love’. I suggest you read Shailene Woodley –
I think the most important thing in life is self-love, because if you don't have self-love, and respect for everything about your own body, your own soul, your own capsule, then how can you have an authentic relationship with anyone else? - Shailene Woodley
I am sure you loved reading her in fact, once you know this secret you find yourself at a point from where you can move forward with lot of self-confidence. People see their entire way of living changed, feeling better, have a better outlook and find all their problems solved with lesser efforts. They find improvement in their relations or even better understanding with a positive attitude.
Loving ourselves has nothing to do with selfishness but it teaches us the art of cleaning some of the bad habits and negativity hidden within us and showing us the way of how to love others in the process. I don’t think anyone will contradict my statement that while you’re happy inside you feel the whole world is beautiful we can go out and help anyone or everyone. If you ask me, self-love is no lesser than self praising ourselves in the sense that we learn about hidden truths during our self analysis and accept ourselves with all our weaknesses and qualities.
I don’t believe that we are complete in all respects but if we know who we are with all honesty and still love ourselves we tend to do better in every field of life with more sincerity. And the best part of ‘self-love’ is you do not have to impose any conditions on yourself. Self-Love works as stepping stone when crossing troubled time of life.
The Smile
It was our organizational annual meeting of all the area managers at Bangalore office, but some of us were confident because we had come to Bangalore with a good track record but at the same time some of us were not as confident or looking gloomy and uncertain. We were all set for opening address by our CEO who had come to attend the meeting from Germany.
I was watching one of the area manager meeting everyone with a sweet smile, full of confidence and full of self-confidence. At that moment, I was sure he had completed his target and was expecting an appreciation from the seniors. But I was wrong, he had not reached his target but still had not given up his smile or lost his self-confidence. No one thought he had not reached his stipulated target unless he told it himself. I am sure I will never forget his gesture for rest of my life.
Smile has its own power
That’s right, the smile has its own powers and if you wish to believe Don Brown he says, ‘a person with strong character and full of self-confidence can smile even in adverse conditions and can achieve the toughest of targets in the end. The best gift that a person can have is his smile and the one blessed with the gift of smile can win hearts and battles alike.
There is no doubt about the fact that a person is as good as his thoughts are and they show in our behavior. There is also no doubt that when a person fails in his mission it takes him lots of efforts for getting out of the disappointing situation but that is not impossible. Positive attitude brings us closer besides your people around you try to help us come out of our difficult times. The only condition is one has to keep his smile intact and facial expressions right.
We are good and bad at healthcare
According to report prepared by the World Health Organization India is at lowly position of 112 among the 190 countries. That is not a healthy situation according to India’s overall growth story in total growth. Generally speaking, there is a wide gap as far facilities available to urban and rural Indian population. However to understand the basics we shall have to look at five different aspects of Indian healthcare system.
The difference in rural and urban health facilities- India is undoubtedly doing better in health sector but the overall expenses on health are still only 4.2% of the national GDP. To give you an idea, America spends 18% on healthcare sector.
The effective payment system- There is no effective payment system in Indian health sector therefore more than 75% in India are in cash transactions. The fact that that less than 5% population of India has any kind of health insurance should give you a better idea.
Lack of infrastructure in health- It’s a fact that more than 7% children die before the age of 5 and to give you a better idea the number of such deaths are far below 1% in America. The reason for such a bad situation in India is the government spends less than 30% of allocated budget. There is an immediate need of more hospitals, diagnostic labs and health IT system.
Indian medicine industry
Fortunately there is no shortage of medicine industry in India and we stand at number three as medicines exporters in the world ranking with more than 80% medicines produced in lower price range under generic section. The future of Indian medicine sector has a bright future but we shall have to make sure that the profit of such a mass production goes to Indian population.
India lacks production of healthcare instruments- India is still far behind in healthcare instrument sector so far. However, the production of instruments is on the up equal to the health insurance sector going up. If India can correct these five basic problems from the system the health of the country can come back to track.
India and Medical Tourism
It’s a controversial fact that not all Indians are getting the benefits of advance health facilities growing at a rapid rate but medical tourism in our country is increasing by leaps and bounds for last decade or so. India is expecting a fare share of the world’s total revenue from medical tourism sector to reach to a figure of $8 billion from current figure of $3 billion within next 3-4 years taking us to top of the global list in medical tourism sector.
Currently our growth rate in medical tourism is increasing at 30 to 35% per annum with investment coming from large Indian and foreign players in the healthcare industry from all over the world investing not only in metro cities but class B and C towns and tourist centers draws a very rosy picture. The corporate sector has found medical tourism as a lucrative business with possibilities in allied business opportunities like hotels and sightseeing therefore spending large amounts in this sector.
There is another factor that has played its role that treatment in India is much cheaper compared to developed countries in Europe and America. At a rough estimate the cost of heart and bones treatment in India is almost 80% cheaper than developed countries and dental treatments cost only 25% and all other surgeries are 60-65% cheaper what it cost to patients in European countries or in America.
India with its super specialist doctors, some of them working as visiting doctors in different countries all over the world with undisputed reputation are doing well in drawing the patients from every part of the globe. Indian health tourism is working out plans offering their consumers a package deal that includes medical expenses, visa arrangements, airport transfer, hotel bills and sightseeing. We are expecting that our government will provide more facilities and tax rebates to medical tourism that will bring more revenue for developing the Indian overall health services in coming annual budget.
Online Health Care
Despite of all the innovative developments we are still way behind western countries in medical healthcare sector. Although, online health facilities are available to Indian users in metros and bigger cities that will cut the need of going out for many useful facilities like online availability of medicines, online blood tests, physio-services and the best of all the availability of in home service for treatment instead of going to a hospital.
I was searching for few such websites and found few useful references on a Health Care Portal that all such health care portals in west provides doctors, physiotherapists, also provides healthcare to senior citizens and medicines to patients under a package deal. It sure helps save them from many problems including an infection a patient might catch in a hospital. After all 1 in 15 patients get an additional problem of caching an infection in a hospital only.
There is another useful facility available to serious patients in bigger cities of our country as the patients do not have to go to a hospital for availing ICU facilities but the ICU facilities are provided at patient’s residence itself at only 20-30% cost compared to what you have to spend in a hospital. If anyone is interested to check the facts he can read them here, (Times of India is a leading English language Newspaper of India)
We all go for Health Checkup which is something that we all face and when the doctor hands the prescription of long list of tests, I think our doctors leave nothing to chance but they make sure you are tested immediately for everything. But the fact that most people in India have no government medical cover or health insurance for such tests.
Apart from few tests in government hospitals most patients find it a tough proposition in terms of money involved on all these tests besides the waiting for their turn at pathology labs is another time consuming affair. Now a number of online healthcare companies have started providing this facility at patients’ home with special discounts on a simple message to their website or App is a big relief. Here is An Android App Ausodhyatmika-Know ur medicine available on Google store for detailed information on medicines

2016 crept in unexpectedly, but isn't that the norm!! Before you know it, you've beautifully wasted a whole damn year, & an other one has just begun. The New year resolutions were made with hope. Well, like most people, I did my best to stick to the resolutions, & succeeded to a great extent. In this post I will describe the highs & lows of the year 2016 in my life...
Became a certified Physiatrist
I graduated as a certified Physiatrist on Sep 7th 2016. Physiatrists are a rare commodity in India. I love this field of medicine & love working to help people out as far as I can. This achievement is the best one, & tops all other achievements of 2016. I am currently working as a Senior Resident in Government Medical College, & am loving every single minute of it...
Started writing articles
I started writing blog articles, on a big scale. One of my articles was accepted by the site Bonobology, & got me awesome reviews from my friends & relatives. The best comment regarding that article, is still etched in my mind. One of my friends said that reading that article 'made her feel de-stressed'....That topped all the other statements made regarding that article...http://www.bonobology.com/love/friendship/591-finding-real-friendship-online.....I've also written quite a few articles for this site, as well...I love writing...
The Truth gets out
I've had issues with certain high profile people, & they had put me through some really bad harassment. The truth about their intentions, & also about their shameless acts surfaced, around September to October. This is definitely a high, because I was wondering of ways to expose the atrocities committed against me, & was running short of ways to do so....Like they say-"Justice is the highest of all virtues."...
The trip to Shirdi
I went to Shirdi in August, & Shirdi Sai Baba means everything to me. The visit was such a life altering experience. I've never felt this blessed in all my life. There's something about Shirdi Sai Baba's love for his devotees, that no bunch of high sounding words can express. I visited the Wadas, the paraayan room, & also checked out the book store. I decided to subscribe to the Sai Leela magazine....The visit to Shirdi was the best thing in my life.....
Had a fall out with certain new friends
Not every relationship is supposed to blossom into a meaningful one. When I found out that a bunch of new friends were unworthy of trust, I decided to back away from trusting & interacting with them. It's neither a high nor a low point/note, but it was an essential move, because for me TRUST is more than just a five letter word. If I lose trust in a relationship, it becomes nullified by default for me....R.L Stevenson said:"A friend is a gift you give yourself.".Well, these gifts only came with good packaging, on the inside they were sick & hollow human beings...
The book I've started writing
I've started writing a book on success principles, incorporating Sai Baba's teachings as the guiding light behind those principles. I've written enough material for 6 chapters. I hope I'll complete the book in 2 years....
The books I read
Read a lot in the last year. The best books by far were:-
1.Be as you are-Daniel Godman...The book contains the teachings of Ramana Maharshi, & is stuffed with spiritual wisdom
2.Practising the power of now - Eckhart Tolle...Another mindblowing book by Eckhart Tolle...Loved every single page of it....
3. Freedom from the known - Jiddu Krishnamurti...I love the way Jiddu Krishnamurti's words spin a web of superior logic around your thoughts, making your life simpler & better...
Sprained my ankle
This is a first for me, for I've never sprained an ankle before!! It hurt for around a week, took analgesics, & sang songs to alleviate the pain!! My heartfelt sympathies to the poor souls who had to listen to me singing Oasis & Bon Jovi songs, with ankle pain punctuating the performances!!!. The ankle sprain was a definite low note for the year....
Went to check out a girl with my parents
So after registering on a matrimonial site, I went to check out a girl with my parents. It was nothing like I expected it to be. I thought it would be super boring, but it was actually kinda fun. I'm looking forward to more such rituals, though my favorite protocol would always be eating dinner & getting to know a girl...
Demonetisation
Well I was also hit badly by this radical step, to curb the accumulation of black money. The long queues near ATMs in the hot noon sun, was really frustrating. But I think these memories will leave an indelible imprint on my mind. Demonetisation worked like a double edged sword. It had it's good & bad sides to it...Hmm...
The songs I've written
I wrote nearly 10 songs in the last year, & it was fun. I shared a good number of them om Facebook, & loved the feedback that I received. I love writing songs, & hope to continue doing so, for as long as I can...My favorite songs that I wrote this year are-'Solitude' & 'Rumors'....
The sunset at Kanyakumari
Once while travelling by train, an old woman told me that the sunset at Kanyakumari was the most beautiful sight on this planet. I decided to check out this phenomenon, & study it!! From 5:30 pm to 6pm all I did was analyse the beauty of the sun setting across the beach, in Kanyakumari. I don't think any other sight will be this awe inspiring...It gives you instant cosmic nirvana...
This year was unexpected, fun, challenging & blessed in every way possible. Not all my plans materialised, but like John Lennon( the lead singer of The Beatles) said:"Life is what happens when you're busy making plans.."...Good bye 2016......
