If you consider yourself a consummate failure, a bankrupt stooge, a veritable loser-then well this article is meant for you. It is time for you to stop brooding over your gargantuan failures and join the group of iconic losers, who managed to surmount herculean obstacles and overcome their disabilities to become shining examples for people like us, to follow. Loser – a tag that everybody fights valiantly to get rid of. Being labeled a loser is perhaps the worst feeling one might have. But readers if you feel that this very word perfectly describes every living aspect of yours, then please carry on reading. And before you start cursing your ancestors and your ill-gotten luck for your misfortunes; let us recap the astonishing tales of a few people, who I feel, personify the very spirit of hapless losers like you. TOP GUN First on the list is this dyslexic boy from Syracuse, New York, who was bullied and humiliated throughout his childhood by his friends and teachers for his disability. To hide his impairment, the boy had to attend a number of different high schools, but everywhere he faced the same sort of persecution and ridicule. He himself described his childhood years to be nightmarish and being constantly plagued by feelings of anxiety, frustration and despondency. He craved to learn but dyslexia was debilitating. He used to raise his hands frequently in the class just so that the teachers would notice him and give extra points for participation. Even though he tried very hard to hide his condition, his disability would soon be revealed and he would be sent off to remedial reading. Even doing simple homework was an arduous chore, which he never could complete without his elder sister’s aid. To add to his never ending woes, his parents got divorced even before he hit puberty. He alongside his elder sister Anne put up with his mother at New Jersey. His mother took up work at three separate places simultaneously just to make ends meet. He was constantly engulfed by feelings of hopelessness and despair at his condition.  He finally succeeded in clearing high schools but expectedly flunked his grads. Harboring aspirations of becoming an actor, he finally moved to New York but even here his condition proved to be an impediment. It was impossible for him to pass any audition as he failed to remember any script that he read. Invariably, there were times when the loser in him wanted to give up, but he kept on grinding as giving up simply wasn’t an option. He clinched his first major solo role in 1983 in Risky Business which helped him garner some attention. 1986 witnessed the release of Top Gun, which nearly grossed 400 million at the box office, and overnight this short dyslexic boy became the darling of the masses. Everybody knows him as Tom Cruise, who now is a global icon, a billionaire producer and Hollywood’s most bankable stars – a seemingly impossible feat for a poor dyslexic boy. He achieved all this because this loser just refused to simply accept his fate.   The Show That Changed Her Life The next stirring tale is that of a young girl who was born out of wedlock to adolescent parents at a ranch in Mississippi. Her mother, an 18 year old housemaid and her father, a freshman in US army soon parted ways after she was born and she was left in the care of her grandmother. Her childhood days can be summed up in three simple sentences, she was a female, she was black and she was very poor. However abject poverty could not stymie her brilliance and sharp intellect. For instance on her very first day at school, she wrote a note to her kindergarten teacher, expressing her desire to study in first grade and subsequently that very year she got promoted to third grade. When she was six she started living with her mother in a very shady and dangerous neighborhood in Milwaukee. There at a very tender age she was physically abused and repeatedly raped by her uncle and her cousins. Her mother, because of her odd working shifts and due to their downtrodden condition, was unable to do anything for her child. Repeated domestic abuse expectedly had an adverse effect on her life. She degenerated into stealing from others, constantly missing school and running away from home on a number of occasions. Bereft of any other option, her mother put her daughter in the care of her father. However, there was no end to this poor girl’s sufferings. When she was just 14, she fell pregnant and gave birth to a dead baby. Such traumatic, grief ridden childhood can potentially derail anyone’s life. But the little black girl refused to give up on her life. Her father managed to help her somewhat financially and through sheer perseverance and dogged determination, she became an excellent student at her school. She actively participated in the drama and debate clubs and soon managed to get a full scholarship at Tennessee University. Soon she was offered a job by Columbia Broadcasting system.  She worked at various television and radio channels in various capacities. In 1984 she became the anchor of a morning show named A.M. Chicago and as a result of show’s soaring popularity, two years later the show was rechristened as “The Oprah Winfrey Show” – and the rest as they say is history. Today she is the richest black billionaire, a global icon and considered to be a torchbearer for women emancipation. Achievements, which once seemed utterly impossible given her traumatic childhood, were only realized because this “loser” had it in her to take on the world. Such examples of “Losers” are abound today. Whether it is Tom Cruise, Oprah Winfrey, Steve Jobs (who was once unceremoniously booted out of Apple) or J K Rowling (who faced numerous rejections for her Harry Potter novels )- all of them faced immense personal and societal difficulties that could have destroyed them ,if they meekly accepted their fates. But they overcame their personal demons and proved their detractors wrong. So if your life is beset with failures- do not lose heart. Let each failure of yours, strengthen your resolve and your conviction that these failures are nothing but stepping stones to success.

 

Thakur Ramakrishna Paramhansa Dev.

I am offering pronama to a great Avatar and again writing few words so that we can follow at least something of his advices.

Once Swamiji said,”we should accept the ideology of Sri Sri Ramakrishna to make our country prosperous”.

In present time we say that it is impossible to live without 4 “C” i.e. car, computer, credit card and cellular phone. Once Ramakrishna said about 4 “C” –commitment, confidence, celibacy and cross (yoga). Only in the age of seventeen he came to Kolkata with his elder brother Ram Kumar as a priest. He did not know education or literature, but he taught us to live in very simple way. He said, “A man is not a man until he serves a man. So go the people and serve them. God lives in everything”. Again he said ,”if you want to mad, be for god, who can laugh, cry for the man”.

Rani Rasmoni Devi made a temple in Dakhineswar where Ramakrishna was engaged as a head priest. In that temple he wanted to make many young as a man. Swami Vivekananda and many others were such great sons of India.

He was born in a unknown village named Kamarpukur in Hoogly district of West Bengal. His original name was Gadadhar Chattopadhyay. He married Maa Sarada when she was only nine. He was a great devotee of Maa Kali. He accepted all religions like Islam, Christianity etc. He proved that there might be much way to go to God but the aim is one. There are many names of god just like water. Hindus call it jall, Muslims call pani and christens call water. Thus he taught us many things in many way simply.

Once Maa Sarada told to him in great sorrow that she had no child. Ramakrishna answered, “one day will come when you will be irritated to hear the call mother”. He said , “each of us carry a head but nobody knows what it contents. We are all powerful. We should act like a human being and then we will be prosperous”.

For this he was a great mystic of India. Many of his devotees believe that he was an Avatar of god.

Thus he advised us not to quarrel in the name of religion, to live peacefully with proper education. He first told about ahimsa also. Only he can said, “Even I can take birth in form of dog also if it will be beneficial to any”.

Increasingly of late celebrity romances are becoming blatant display of public affection meant only for garnering eyeballs . This genre love that pays is running rampant throughout tinsel town where people will resort to any means necessary to grab public attention . This all for show romance or showmance has gripped fame hungry couples of the industry . In an era, sprawling with celebrities and where people’s attention span is getting shorter day by day such recourses are optedby people either with no discernible talent or are past their prime , just to remain relevant in the showbiz industry .How else can you explain Shane Warne’s overt flirtations with Liz Hurley which again made these two has been celebrities headline grabbers. There’s Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson who hooked up during the reality show Newlyweds and then broke up when the show got completed …..such examples are abound today . Magazines are vying with each other to get a peek into the private life of celebrities who in turn are more than happy to reveal all that happens behind closed doors ….to give a filip to their careers . There may not be an iota of actual romance happening …but who cares about such minor in discrepancies when the common man is more than eager to lap up every tidbit of their personal lives ….real or not. LOVE FOR DISPLAY Who can forget Kim Kardashian’s much touted 72 days public marriage which made her purse heavier by a few millions and kept her in the limelight or the infamous saga of Tomy Lee and Pamela where every agonizing detail of their lives were put on display . However without any shadow of doubt the King and the Queen of showmance are undoubtedly Katie Price and Peter Andre whose wedding rights were sold for a mind blowing 2 million dollars . As expected their marriage was over in a blink, but that to they chose to do on national television with millions watching . A renowned showbiz writer in one of his recent columns alluded to the fact celebrity romances is a fail proof method toshoot up the TRPS . People like to view celebrity couples bickering on TV as that gives them a sense of comfort about their own mundane lives. Well is this style of affection here for the long haul ?. Well as per most eminent showbiz specialists the answer is a resounding yes. These romances are prompted by nuances of celebrity life and demands of this generation, where every small detail has to be scrutinised and dissected . Showmances sadly are also a reflection of today’s society where couples are increasingly showcasing their love .. So some may find this blatant attention seeking displays of love morally decadent but fortunately or unfortunately this showmance will go on for a long time.

 

NETAJI AND A QUESTION

“In this world everything may be destroyed except dream and ideal.”-Netaji.

Thus before Independence Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose helped  us to dream to get free India. He also advised to go in track with ideal.

But corruption is everywhere in all level of our society .We forget the ideology of the great sons of our motherland, we forget the sacrifice of freedom fighter. Now we know only power and money.

In 116^th birth anniversary (23^nd Jan-2012) of Netaji  I personally collected some materials to write this with some question.

DISAPPERANCE MYSTERY OF NETAJI.

Three numbers of investigation commission formed. The first was in 1955, the second was after 15 years of first i.e. in 1970 and the last was in 1999. The main object of three commission was whether Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose died in a plane crash on Tai-hoku airport in Japan. Then where did the wealth vanish which were the assets of Azad Hind Fouz. And the third was if he was not died in plane crash, where did he go and how?

The first commission was formed by our first Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Neheru under the head Sehenwaj Khan,the ex soldier of Azad Hind Fouz. Mr. Khan submitted his report in 1956 and said that Netaji died there in plane crash. But the Indians did not agree with him and also his brother Suresh Chandra Bose said that Mr. Khan did not meet the live witness at that time. Mr. Suresh Bose was one of the members of that commission.

At that time an unofficial investigation commission under Dr. Radha Binodh Paul was formed and he said that on plane crash was held at that time in Tai-hoku airport.

Due to the pressure of Parliament and whole Indians, in 1970 Mrs. Indira Gandhi formed another commission under justice G.D.Kholsa,which is called Kholsa commission.Mr. Kholsa proved the report of Khan as correct though Dr. Satya Narayan Sinha said in commission that Habibur Rahaman ( Netaji’s last plane mate) had told him that the news of plane crash was not right news. Dr. S. K. Jain who was the typist of Neheruji said to the commission that he had typed a confidential letter in order of Prime Minister. Neheruji said “ Subhas Bose arrived to Manchuria from Sygon in 23^rd August 1945. Mr. Bose was accompanied with four members and ariived in Russia. Stalin gave him shelter and opposed the power of Britain and America.” He requested Russia administration to look up the matters. But at that time Indian Govt did not co-operate.

In 1946 Ex Major General of Moscow Mr.Alekjander Kaleshnicar said at that time that he had some information that Stalin had been discussing with his colleagues ,where Subhas should be kept?

It has also shown in death certificate that the name who died was not Chandra Bose but it was Ikio-o-kura and the date was 19^thnot 18^th.The cause of death was heart problem not any burn case. The date of birth of died person was 9^th April 1900 but the date of birth of Netaji was 23^rd January 1897.Thus the two commission ended with some mystery. No post mortem was done, no picture of died person was stored except ashes of a funeral pile, which has been kept in Rainkoji temple in Japan.

At last in 1999 under Justice Monoj Mukhopadhya, one man commission was formed . He collected many proofs and found many documents. He also moved many countries and tried to find out the truth.  He also said in an interview that many proofs were not found. The Britain Govt. declared that up to 2025 all documents and files regarding Netaji will be kept under table. If it appears then it will be hard to maintain good relationship with many countries.

It is not expected that the end of such great Patriot, such great son of India, such great soldier will be unknown.

Once revolutionist Aurobindo was sent to prison by British Government and there he felt the touch of God. Then he quit politics and engaged himself as a devotee of God and known as Rishi Aurobindo.If Netaji did the same ,then the administration should knew this. Even it is confirmed that he might be died in plane crash that should be declared clearly.

Such Great Hero should not be forgotten.

One question is in every bodies mind still now. We should keep faith that history repeats again and history don’t care anybody. One fine morning may be it will be clear what the end of our beloved Hero was.

I have written this not to oppose anybody and not in political mind. I am a great fan of him and I think in democracy everybody should have right to know everything.
