if i would have been a boy i wouldnt have offered seat to anyone untill and unless i found that they are in problem or they have some illness etc or if they are very old.like a pregnant lady, a injured person,very old age person.because already in buses and trains even in metros also seats are reserved for them.then if all boys will give their seats to them then where they will sit.
and even nowadays it not impress girls.its an old tactic.
