Tor is used in an informal way and interestingly this form could be used both disparagingly as well as lovingly - for example a person of low status could be asked for his name like: Tor naam ki? - What is your name - the same could be used in relation to young ones in the family.
Tomar is formal - Tomar naam ki? Amar naam Sandhya Rani!
Apnar is strictly formal and should be used in relation to elders and persons deserving by virtue of their poistion of respect- official or other wise!

I want to teach my friends some simple Malayalam words. You can see it, how difficult it is, to write Malayalam words in English. Peru...if read in another way has another meaning......'Delivery'. :woohoo: :P :laugh: :laugh:

We have only tu and tusi. We do not respect any one more than tusi nor degrade any one by calling tu, that is for loved ones, big or small.
