Yes spitting is a national habit. Two wheeler drivers ahead of you will do so without caring if it hits persons behind them. So when such persons go abroad on a tour it takes time for them to adjust, but by that time the tour is over !.

If you want an answer to that you need to go through the previous posts which is the norm in any discussion site, not just make posts for the sake of doing so..

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

India's Nationa Animal l is Royal Bengal Tiger. , National tree is Indian banyan. National flower is Indian Lotus.so on and so forth. Each country will be having its national symbols. In the same way, Spitting should be made as our national habit.

See you are doing it again, exactly what everyone is complaining about. Now do not reply to this post but make sure you read the topic first and others' opinions before making meaningless comments.

Old habits die hard ...

Coming back to the topic I have seen many foreigners getting confused by the head shaking habit of the Indians ..One can never be sure whether they are saying yes or no. In fact I get confused here too, why not say things verbally rather than shake and nod and make things difficult and complicated !!!!

Shaking head sideways while agreeing to a proposal is a famous Indian style which is well documented in business negotiation tips by foreigner trainers. As Indians we should not have this problem though.

Even as an Indian I sometimes find it difficult to gauge what a head shake means with certain people , whether they are agreeing or disagreeing because there is not much difference between the two shakes ..
