This is how things work in Switzerland ..

Switzerland is probably the most democratic and perfect nations in the world today. the major concern that people and the leaders have is to make their country safe and peaceful. Crime rate in Switzerland is very low because of the strict measures they take , totally disregarding any other factor except what benefits the country and its citizens the most , they also have a large number of naturalised muslim immigrants who have been living there for generations ... I wish other countries, especially our own followed suit rather than appeasing some and condemning others for their own selfish interest !

Muslim school students in the Swiss canton of Basel cannot refuse to shake hands with their female teachers on religious grounds, otherwise their parents will face fines, local authorities have ruled.

According to the department, if students refuse to shake hands, it means that they involve others “in a religious act.”

“The social gesture of a handshake is important for the employability of the students later in their professional lives,” it said.

While it is true that Switzerland earns a lot through banking, it is not the main or the only source of income . I know this a little better than you since my daughter lives there with her husband who is a citizen and I have visited the place 5 times already . Apart from that a family friend is part of a banking organization in Bern and we discuss the ins and outs , that is as much as he can possibly reveal. Switzerland is into every kind of industry possible , so banking is just one source of its income .

The Swiss have used the black money of the world gainfully to develop lot many industries which are world class. This is their plus point and one has to give credit to them. Many brilliant ideas do not flourish in many countries including India for want of capital at right time and at affordable interest rates. I was told by my hosts in Switzerland that lot many Swiss citizens put their money in German banks because the Swiss do not pay interest. Looks funny. @Usha and @Kalyani are looking at the success side of their economy and rightly are finding it fantastic. MGSingh and me are looking at the developmental side and find illegal money has supported their economy considerably. The Swiss have skillfully   buttered their bread both sides.

Either way they have a model , extremely well developed country where the citizens are happy and their GDP is the highest , so what more does one want ? as far as illegal money is concerned I am told it is exaggerated to a great extent by the fiction writers ...there is much more of the Nazi wealth in South American countries and other tax havens like Cayman island than in Switzerland !

So means do not matter as far as the citizens and immigrants get a good  life to lead. Then why do you make so much fuss about Indians who also resort to corrupt means to improve their and friends and relatives life.

No point in comparing situations that cannot be compared ...So making an issue  about corruption in our country is bad precedence since it points fingers only in one direction..

yeah that's why the swiss bank account are so popular in INDIA, as it is made to keep black money

It points out in one direction in Switzerland also but you chose to turn a blind eye for obvious reasons because for you success counts and not the means. Back home it reverses.

Obviously my way of looking is different to that of others , but I am.able to distinguish between right and wrong that for sure !

It is amazing to see the level of awareness among the citizens of Switzerland. Recently one fraction of the leaders wanted to implement a basic income to all its citizens whether they work or not amounting to $2500 . Since the law there is to have a public referendum where all the citizens vote before passing a law, this too was taken to the public. And the proposal was voted out because they want to earn their living rather than get freebies from the state !!! Honestly just imagine what would have happened back here ...

Here also the result would have been same if not better. Here also people want to work and earn. Why do you have such low opinion about your fellow citizens and great regard for foreigners.

I have no blinkers on after having seen of the work culture here and way the grand old party and its allies have popularised freebies here ... They would not hesitate for a minute to vote for such a proposal where they get a steady income sitting at home, that I am sure of ..You only need to see the way old age pension, widows pension etc are abused ..

You can add 'Swatantrta Senani' pension in the list. I have yet to believe that people who took part in Independence Movement are still alive or if the did they must be over 90 at least. But when I see people handing over their "Swantrata Senani' free  travel pass to bus conductors they don't look like more than 50-60 to me which means they were born after independence.

Yes that too...every single scheme is abused and misused here.

Abuse does not define the whole system. In Switzerland also more than 20% voted in favour of the scheme, but here 20% or less catches your attention and you start abusing everyone. Sure blinkers are on. Everywhere you only see Sonia.

Now it is clear who has the blinkers on ..I leave that to you since you are so obviously enamored by the lady that you cannot hear any facts against her and anyway here she is not the subject but the Indian freebies popularised by Congress party during Indira Gandhi's time.

Still looking / waiting  for an answer, do not take cover of the lady and duck away. At least the lady does not run away.

The lady considers she is above answering anything , anyway that hardly matters now, does it ? There are plenty of immigrants in Switzerland who have got the status of citizens and I am told most of them voted for..Also India is a different story and while we all know that what is the problem in admitting it..

It is sad that many like to eulogise foreigners and condemn their fellow citizens. That has been our tragedy since centuries.

If such a thing has been happening for centuries , I guess there must be some deep rooted reason behind that !
