Cross-border terrorism is rife in the state of J&K. But a look back we can recollect that in 1970-71 the Indian army disguised as Mukti Bahni entered East Pakistan. This was the first case of cross-border terrorism. I recollect reading that many officers of Indian special forces were killed months before the real war started in East Pakistan. The fact is the Mukti Bahni could not even kill a chicken and Pakistan is angry that we broke up the Pak state into two. They will not accept and so now they are out for revenge and may well succeed.I invite readers to comment and look at the problem in totality.

I don't understand the hue and cry over toppling statues of Lenin in Tripura, Lenin may be a great figure in the history of Russia, but still we cannot forget that he himself was a political radical who killed tens of thousands of Russians who opposed, imprisoned as many in concentration camps for years and the style of his politics is not at all suited to India.
Lenin was essentially an intellectual and his uprising began against the czars ..he did become a dictator in his later years but he also was instrumental in bringing about social justice through of course radical and violent measures initially. I would say it was because the world was steeped in violence during the early years of 20th century. But we cannot overlook his contribution to the world. I am sure it brought in a new school of thought..it is also a fact that he realized that violence and dictatorship had it's limitations and so began to advocate socialism.
Personally I feel that he was a great historical figure and by bringing down he statue the state has managed to stir a hornet's nest ...everybody is now doing the same with or without reason

Yes, you have hit the nail on the head. Lenin was a heartless dictator in the mold of Hitler. In my visit to Russia so many times (as I flew Russian planes), Lenin is not much respected, but Russians are nostalgic for Stalin. Removing Lenin's statue is no big deal. People must be aware that over 100 statues of Lenin in East Europe were pulled down after collapsing of communism. Russians are also not bothered about Lenin because he introduced the concentration camp and forced labor. Why are people in India bothered?

Lenin was an intellectual with a warped mind He introduced the Gulag-concentration camp and torture chamber. he authorized the murder of Czar Nicholas II and his children. He was a heartless brute who also invented thee NKVD-Secret police and people were scared of the midnight knock. As I have written I visited Russia at least once a year and Russians dont much remember him. They have a love for Stalin The Russian government now does not pay a kopeck for maintaining the Lenis mausoleum and no visitor is taken there. It is maintained by private funds of communists -who in any case are finished in Russia. When Russians are not bothered about Lenin, whats the problem here.

Yes. This is a fact that Russians remember and nostalgic of Stalin. Russians take great pride in their country and despite everything they feel he made Russia a great power. The adulation for Stalin is maybe because Russians like strong men. After Stalin the most popular leader is Putin. He is also a macho man. I have written a lot on Stalin and he deserved the title" Great"
Yes! We have digressed from the topic Pakistan invaded Kashmir in 47 and we only reacted and allowed Paks to takeover 40% of Kashmir. In 1971 India paid back pak in the same coin.Noe they are into Kashmir to avenge Bangladesh. We need a proactive poljcy like Indira did. Modi cannot be expected to do same as he is not as dynamic as he sounds in speeches
Formation of Bangladesh inspite if stiff opposition from the United States which supported Pakistan is really a commendable feat and India should be eternally grateful to Indira Gandhi for her courage in handling a very tricky situation along with Mujhibur Rehman and by conferring her an award posthumously Bangladesh too has recognized that fact ...I wish the same was done in Kashmir where they failed horribly because of mishandling and trusting the Abdullah s.
What could not be done in 70 years cannot be expected to be finished in 3 years , so blaming Modi and s unfair.
When gangrane sets in there is no choice but surgery and amputation. Modi may have only 3 years but there is no way to solve the problem other than drastic surgery. The nation cannot wait till when Modi will act. The time is NOW and Modi cannot take shelter that he had only 4 years. That's a hell of a lot of time for surgery which he should have carried out straight away. As I have written and heard from my friends in AIR HQ he is indecisive. He failed to grant complete OROP as per the resolution of two parliaments and now the veterans have filed a case in the Supreme Court which has been accepted as it "merited consideration." Modi is talking big but again he has not realized that Mao wrote a Nations respect is on its armed might. Trump said the same thing. Can you think of any similar action in USA, UK, Russia where soldiers have to go to court? For me, he is a failure and I will vote against him.
Winning a war in the west is not easy. The Pak and Indian army are from same racial stock and in 3 wars the Indian Army could not breach PAK defences. At best they could go just 7 km into Pak. India lost an entire brigade in 65 trying to capture Lahore. In 71 the battle in west was a stale mate. In KARGIL. Indian army could not take entire hill and PK vacated only under US pressure. To think IA wIn is easier said than done and considering stAte of affairs what if Pak wins? Modi has no comprehension of how to tackle Pal and keep military morale high.

Aren't there learned and wise brains in the armed forces advising him?

It will surprise you that the strong will officers are filtered out in higher ranks and the men who reach the top are yes men. So?????
There won't be any world war and I can say China may support Pak but will not physically fight India for the sake of Pak. They have a trade worth 86 billion dollars with India. A fight will be there but an India Pak fight only and the result is a toss-up. What if Pak wins, which is also likely. Being smug about victory is the most foolish thing. It could lead to a similar fight in Kashmir valley like in East Pakistan.
I think India has become better under Modi, in terms of getting more protective & attacking equipments, also there is more expression by the Army, however the possibility of a war looks more likely now as both the parties have become aggressive. India's morale should be in good spirits following the recent success in Surgical strikes & other successful operations.
