If India will face such failures , this can incur heavy loss. The whole economy will suffer due to such a great loss. If this mistake is not a big problem than ok otherwise this is vain.
The money invested into mission is far far less than is invested in other areas, namely cinema and cricket, and even if the mission fails at a later point, there will be no significant dent in the overall economy apart from a few setbacks in the budgets allocated for such researches and explorations!
The money allotted for scientific research is around millions. If it does not become profitable, it is nothing but a great loss, a debt. The money invested in films and sports are mostly profitable. Indian economy is gaining with it. Profit is more compared to the losses.
The money invested on Mars Mission was a pittance and the returns are very high. Remember, the returns will show up over a period in the form many scientific achievements which will enhance or ability to predict the cyclones and Tsunamis so that we can avert millions and millions worth of Property and human lives. We need more such missions in future.
Such missions are advantageous but the failure of such missions led to heavy financial losses. Every mistakes prices more. It is nothing but the wastage of time and money.
It is not at all a waste of time and money but each single failure is only a step forward to future success. But it seems like you have not read mine or Jabeen's pr Rambabu's above posts and really understood the significance and necessity of such expenditure! since you keep insisting that it is a waste!
NASA too had its fair share of failures. India in order to stand against the monopoly of advanced countries, it has to achieve self reliance in Rocket technology.. For example now India is making its own cryogenic engines which was once monopolized by America, Russia and China. No amount of expenditure is more to spend on satellite Mission.

Why don't you think that all great scientists from India and going abroad and helping other countries to advance in space research. When the question comes for India, many a times, experiments fail. Many rockets and space shuttle do not reach their destination. Who is responsible for this. If government is investing in such bogus experiments and research than it is a waste.
I am not writing about all scientific experiments but about the space research. I have many a times heard that the mission had failed. This is a fact.

Compared to others, ISRO's failures are very less.

Is Mars mission okay for a poor country like India? some social activists and scientists have raise this question whereas P.M. and Modi, PM candidate have congratulated the space scientists for launching Mars mission.

I think Government should cut down unnecessary expenditure and spend on making the economy better. The US has already sent a probe to Mars, the Indian Scientists should conduct their study of Mars based on the findings of that probe instead of sending another unnecessary mission.

India is not a poor country. Every year, We spent crores for IPL , Bollywood movies and Stage shows.
Rs. 450 crore is not big for India.
Let's hope this mission is complete without any efforts Because it is really beneficial for India.

US who is considered the best player in space research too had its own shares of enormous failures and they have lost their own space shuttles and irreplaceable astronauts many a times. So has India failed in many attempts, but that still does not mean that space research is a waste. Consider one thing at least, that the brains behind these researches, the people who drive these endeavours are not so harebrained to keep attempting again and again in spite of failures. There is a reason for that and it is enough, not for us really to comment on its futility when we people do not even know the extent to which these people have put their lives and themselves into the research. For us it is very easy to sit in the comforts of our homes and talk about who sinfully the money is wasted..blah blah blah... etc. so let us not question the credibility and integrity of such missions!
