After marriage a female should go to in laws house, but when a male comes to stay in his in laws house, society will not accept this......
When you talk about society who do you mean? your family or friends , neighbors or community? Do they come for your help or assistance when you are down and out? Once you are firm and are sure of what you are doing noone will have the guts to openly say or do anything and what people say or do behind your back is really not worth bothering about...
As far as a girl staying with her parents after her marriage, it is left to the couple to decide and do what is best for them...
What’s good and bad for someone is well known to the people involved. Here, its their point of view that counts. Not the bystanders view
In big cities or metro, hardly any one bothers as to how and with whom you live. But when you live in your native village or town surrounded by near relatives, it makes some difference. Suppose that you belong to Meerut and the inlaws and their relatives all live there, 'ghar jamai' may be ridiculed. But if the girls' father is in a city where there are no near relatives, it will make no difference.

In these fast paced days, I don't think people are left with that much time to think and comment on others lives. They have enough problems of their own. Even if they comment who is going to care.

Yes it is tradition in all most whole world that girls went to husbands house after marriage. But in some conditions boys prefer to stay at his in-laws house. My brother done it and later it was reason for his marriage breakup.

Staying with in-laws led to break up ? Sad. I know some cases, where son –in- law has been ill treated.

In most of cases son-in-law is not respected by in-laws. It is proverb for "Bahin ke Ghar Bhai Kuta, Sas Ke Ghar Janwai Kuta"

It all depends on convenience...My aunt lives with her daughter beacuse her daughter needs her help in looking after her teenaged sons who have a better understanding with their grand mother. Similarly her son lives at his mother in law's house because she has no one else with her, my aunt's daughter in law being her only daughter. which makes sense ! What others say is of the least importance here or rather has absolutely no relevance ..
Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

It depends on the circumstances but normally females stay with their parents after marriage when they have some serious troubles in the marriage or they need support of their parents.

No doubt, women stay routinely with their in laws otherwise their husbands aretagged as Ghar Jamai. There are exceptional circumstances when women may stay in their parents' house. It is more a matter of convenience these days as the joint family system is not so prevalent. Usually women stay with their husbands only - away from own parents or parents in law.

Yes its very exceptional when husband too stays with her wife at her parents house but sometimes it happens in the case when both wife and husband are working and they need someone to take care of their kids.

Some times it so happens that hubby goes out in connection of his job and wife feels comfortable staying with her mother in place of in-laws. She feels more at home with her mother taking care of her as well her child with esser responsibilities compared to staying with mother-in-law..
